10:24 PM IST, 12:54 PM Local Time: San Francisco Unicorns are home with that boundary. SFU skipper Hassan Khan also reaches his half-century with those match-winning runs. They defeat Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets with more than four overs to spare. With that massive win, SFU have now qualified for the playoffs as they go over Lahore Qalandars as well as Desert Vipers in terms of net run-rate. They are now standing at the second spot, behind Guyana Amazon Warriors, in the points table. Lahore Qalandars are now knocked out of the competition as they slip to the fourth spot, behind Desert Vipers, in the table.
Lahore Qalandars elected to bat first and posted 152/6 with their openers Shamyl Hussain and Shayan Jahangir adding 74 runs for the first wicket. Jahangir went on to make 61 off 50 balls but his side could not score big at the back end as SFU spinner Callum Stow got a lot of purchase from the surface and picked up four wickets to derail the Lahore innings. Still, 152 was a par score on a turning Providence track.
In reply, the Unicorns made a brisk start despite losing opener Tim Robinson for a 15-ball 21 that included a four and two sixes. Robinson's opening partner Connor Esterhuizen then maintained the momentum with a fluent 29 off just 18 deliveries, striking two fours and two sixes before departing with the score at 67.
Captain Hassan Khan anchored the chase superbly, remaining unbeaten on 53 off 33 balls, peppering the boundary with two fours and five sixes. He found an able partner in Oliver Peake, whose attacking 27 from 15 deliveries featured two fours and two maximums as the pair pushed the scoring rate well above the required mark.
Although Peake fell after adding valuable runs, Hammad Azam ensured there were no late hiccups, finishing unbeaten on 18 off 11 balls. The Unicorns' aggressive approach meant the chase was virtually sealed long before the closing stages, with the side reaching the target with 28 balls to spare.
Lahore's bowlers struggled to contain the run flow, with Shahab Khan, Michael Bracewell, and Shamim Hossain picking up a wicket each, but except for Shahab to some extent, none of the other bowlers could stem the relentless scoring as San Francisco completed a clinical chase.
With that defeat, Lahore have now been knocked out of the tournament while Unicorns will play the Qualifier against Desert Vipers on Saturday.

Callum Stow (Player of the Match): "(Into the playoffs. How does that feel?) It is a game today that we had to win. It is a great feeling to get to the playoffs and get the tournament going.
(Did you do anything different today?) I do not think so. I just trusted my game a bit more. It felt like I did something better today.
(How have you used this pitch in Guyana?) Obviously it is a good pitch to bowl first for the spinners. Bit of turn there and the conditions are good for taking wickets. Good experience to bowl here in Guyana.
(Would you take the Providence pitch all over the world with you?) That would be nice. It is great to be here in Guyana."

Michael Bracewell (Lahore Qalandars Captain): "(On the batting of Lahore Qalandars) Ya we set a really good platform but we could not able to capitalize on that. We batted well through the middle overs and got a decent score.
(You started the tournament very well but suddenly ran out of gas as a team) Ya it happens in T20 games. It is a small tournament and once you start losing, it goes pretty quick. We are disappointed to not make it to the playoffs but we have a lot of good performances in our way.
(Any player to look out for the future?) I think Farhan Yousaf in particular had a great tournament. He looked to be in home in these conditions and put the bowlers in pressure. He looks to be a bright prospect for Pakistan.
(Few words on the Global Super League) It has been a great experience. Players from all around the world have come and it is a very unique experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed and hopefully we can come back again next year."

What a victory for San Francisco Unicorns. Everything went according to their plan today. They not only had to win but also had to defeat Lahore Qalandars by a big margin to improve their net run-rate. But they did it in style by registering a seven-wicket win with 28 balls to spare. With this victory, Unicorns have knocked out Qalandars from the competition and the MLC side will play the Qualifier on Saturday against the ILT20 franchise Desert Vipers.
Only one more league fixture in GSL 2026 is left and that will be played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Perth Scorchers XI at 4:30 AM IST. However, the result of that game will have no bearing on the points table as Guyana will stay at the top even if they lose the game, while Perth are still searching for their first win of the season and have already been knocked out of GSL 2026.
