Time for the Post-match Presentation!
Player of the Match: Alzarri Joseph
Alzarri Joseph (Player of the Match): "[What worked well for you] I think it was generally just keeping it simple. The wicket gave the information. I just went with what was working on the night.

[Were the pace variations the hallmark of your success] Yeah after the first over, I realized there was variable bounce, a bit of two-paced nature. Bowling from that end, there was a strong wind factor to my right. If they hit me off the length into the wind, that would be good cricket.

[Have you felt a different vibe with this franchise] It's pretty good, everyone welcomed me. It is always great playing for my own franchise. For me, it is about representing well.

[On Tajinder Singh's knock] Excellent. He truly brought us back into the game after a slow start. He can just keep building. We had a camp and he looked good.

[Good start to the season compared to last year] I had a break, got some time to get rested and come here with a bit of energy."
Rovman Powell (Jamaica Kingsmen Captain): [on what went wrong] "We should look on the start as a batting group. We were 5-10 runs short. As a bowling group we struggled in the middle overs to build the pressure that we needed to.

[on the performances] I am pleased. In hindsight, few plans can go better. Keemo Paul and Andre Russell were brilliant. This is just the start of the competition, encouraging signs.

[on the result] When it comes to the final over, it really wasn't our game to win. We really did well to pull it till the final ball. Credit to the guys for pushing it to the very end tonight."
Fabian Allen (Antigua & Barbuda Falcons Captain): "'[Reflections on the game] It was a tight call in the end but a win is a win. The way the guys batted and bowled, all-round performance I am happy with that.

[How comfortable were you at the half-way mark of the match] When the eyes got in, I know they will get it over the line. The way the pitch played, it was a good wicket for batting.

[Alzarri Joseph and Tajinder Singh's performances] He came up with a crucial spell and Singh delivered with the bat, I am happy for them. It was a good chase.

[What are your learnings as a leader] First win is always a great feeling. Going forward, I will learn from that."
A fantastic but tense win for the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the season opener for the Caribbean Premier League! Tajinder Singh leading with the bat after a good effort from the bowling attack.
The Falcons will face the St Lucia Kings on August 10th with the Jamaica Kingsmen taking on Barbados Tridents on August 12th in match number 4!
That will be it from our coverage. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
