SMF won by 7 wickets
5:36 PM IST, Local Time: That’s it. SoBo Mumbai Falcons keep themselves alive in Mumbai T20 League 2026. In their last league game, they beat table-toppers North Mumbai Panthers by 7 wickets. With this result, Eagle Thane Strikers have been eliminated from the competition.

Chasing 158, the Falcons lost Awais Khan (6) cheaply. Naman Jhawar looked good for his 22 before he fell in the last over of the powerplay. Gautam Waghela joined Ishan Mulchandani and both kept the Panthers at bay with a well-constructed partnership.

Mulchandani brought up a well-composed fifty off 35 balls. Mulchandani holed out in the deep on 65 as the 77-run stand came to an end in the 15th over. Waghela was joined by skipper Aditya Tare and both remained unbeaten on 45 and 10 respectively as they took their side across the line in 18.1 overs. The Falcons chased down 158 with seven wickets in hand to keep themselves alive in the tournament.

Earlier, the Panthers opted to bat first and lost Hardik Tamore (1) in the very first over. Anish Chaudhery (32) and Abhigyan Kundu (45) built a solid partnership but both fell in a quick succession, allowing the Falcons to pull back things.

The Panthers kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Their batters failed to contribute as they got bundled out on 157 in 19.2 overs as they failed to play out their full quota of 20 overs. For the Falcons, Mayuresh Tandel was the standout bowler, registering figures of 4/30. The batters then stepped up and chased down the total with ease.
Hardik Tamore (North Mumbai Panthers Captain): "[Was there a lack of motivation today, having already qualified for the semi-finals?] No, it wasn't the case. Whenever we step onto the field, we try to win. It was a bad day for us. We will go back to hotel and learn from our mistakes before we come back tomorrow.

[Did he enjoy the captaincy stint?] I have played with Ajinkya for the last 4-5 years. I try to pick his game.

[Plans for tomorrow?] We will look to come back stronger tomorrow. It's a big day for us tomorrow. Today, it was a bad day for us."
Player of the Match: Mayuresh Tandel
Mayuresh Tandel (Player of the Match): "Batters were confident. We saw their intent while batting. We did well in this run chase. I focus on my basics. I tried to bowl dot balls. When the batters tried to hit big shots, it helped me. I will dedicate this award to my family and my son."
Aditya Tare (SoBo Mumbai Falcons Captain): "[On the win today] It was important to win. I think we played well. This was our best game as far as our batting was concerned. Mulchandani was playing well. I think his innings was due for a long time. Really happy.

[On Tandel's bowling] I was under-using him. His spell changed the game. Brilliant spell by him. The ball was spinning as well. Deserves the Player of the Match.

[On not opening the batting today] I think the absence of Shreyas matters a lot. Experience matters in the middle overs and I thought by batting in the middle order, I can help the team.

[On the next game] Andheri are a good team. I hope they play good cricket tonight and give us a chance to play the semi-finals. We will be watching the match and supporting the Andheri side."
That wraps up our coverage of this game. The final league game will begin shortly, where Arcs Andheri will lock horns against MSC Maratha Royals. Do switch tabs to follow it live. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Ashok Dayma. Bye bye.
