Shreyash Padole to Jagjot Sasan
Jagjot Sasan with the winning runs!!!! An array of pure elegance to find the last few boundaries, helping the Bharat Rangers dwarf the Orange Tigers. Short and wide outside the fourth stump with minimum turn. The batter weighs back, stays for the cherry to come at him and cuts it through the gap between backward point and point for a four.

BHR won by 6 wickets
11:31 PM IST, Local Time: Another run-fest in VPL 2026, as Bharat Rangers chased down 236 runs by 6 wickets with 17 balls to spare to start their campaign on a high note.

Earlier, after a disastrous start that saw them slump to 11/4 inside the first three overs, Orange Tigers produced a remarkable recovery to post a formidable 236/8 in their 20 overs. Nachiket Bhute and Sanyog Bhagwat wreaked havoc with the new ball, reducing the Tigers' top order to rubble with three of the top five batters dismissed for ducks.

Rohit Binkar led the fightback with a brilliant 53, rebuilding the innings and taking the attack to the spinners during the middle overs. His aggressive approach shifted the momentum, while frequent no-balls and loose deliveries from the Rangers allowed Orange Tigers to capitalize. After Binkar's departure, impact player Akshay Agrawal continued the charge with a well-made 57.

The Tigers finished strongly as Akshay Karnewar blasted 42 off just 19 balls before Vishesh Tiwari (30* off 14) and Shreyash Padole (24* off 8) provided a late flourish. Their explosive hitting in the death overs powered Orange Tigers from a precarious position to an imposing total of 236/8.

Bharat Rangers produced a batting masterclass, chasing down the massive target with ease to register a commanding victory. Although skipper Atharva Taide (13) and Danish Malewar (22) got the innings off to a brisk start, it was Vedant Jajoo who stole the show with a breathtaking 113 off just 46 balls, smashing 11 fours and 8 sixes.

Jajoo first added 44 runs with Malewar before putting on a match-defining 143-run partnership with Manan Agarwal, who played a superb supporting role with 52 off 30 deliveries. Their aggressive batting completely took the game away from the opposition.

Despite Aditya Thakare's four-wicket haul, the bowlers had little answer to the relentless assault from the Rangers' batters. After Jajoo's departure, Varun Bisht (12*) and Jagjot Sasan (13*) applied the finishing touches as Bharat Rangers crossed the line with ease.

Stay tuned for the presentation....
Vedant Jajoo (Player of the Match): "(The broadcaster confused Vedant Jajoo with Yash Rathod, and asked a wrong question) You confused me with Yash Rathod, maybe you need to restructure the question. (On the win) We had the confidence in us, and we knew that we have practiced hard.

(On the high confidence)Yes, we have practiced hard and now it has only got better. (On the support) Keep supporting us, we will try to justify your support. No concerns, only positives from our efforts. We go ahead."
It's time for the post-match presentation.....
Player of the Match: Vedant Jajoo
Atharva Taide (Bharat Rangers Captain): "(How ya feeling) We are feeling good, it's been good.  Thanks to VCA for giving us such good pitches. (On scoring big totals) Their batters also batted well after being 11/4. From Rohit to Akshay Agrawal and the other Akshay. But I had confidence in us that we can chase it down.

(On Jajoo's century which is the second of the tourney) Not for the team only, also for the player himself. Vedant is going through a lot and it was important for him to score today.

(Importance of Toss). If you look carefully, the team that bowled better, won the game. It is very important to bowl well in these games. The toss isn't that a factor. But I feel the wicket will get slow as the tournament progresses. And then you might get to see teams defend total and win games."
That’s all from this coverage, folks! Bharat Rangers chased down a mammoth 235 runs with ease, thanks to Vedant Jajoo’s scintillating century. We hope you enjoyed the run-fest. For now, it’s me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of my colleagues Arijit Kundu, Saptak Sanyal, and Sachin Yadav. Good night & Cheers!
