Mysore Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl first. Luvnith Sisodia and Tushar Singh got the Shivamogga Yodhas off to a flying start. Tushar and Luvnith struck fiercely inside the powerplay and the Yodhas piled up the runs. Tushar was dismissed by Manoj Bhandage in the 7th over of the innings but till then, 79 runs had been scored in just 6.5 overs. Manoj Bhandage removed Aneesh KV in the very next ball and with those two jolts, Yodhas were 79/2 after 7 overs.
Then Smaran Ravichandran joined the well set Luvnith in the crease. Barring Bhandage, everybody went for runs. Smaran and Luvnith put up 45 runs for the third wicket. Luvnith got to his fifty in 27 balls and eventually scored 58 off 38 balls. He played five dot balls and was cleaned up by a yorker from Lavish Kaushal. In the next over, Madhav Bajaj dismissed Smaran who dragged a wayward ball to his stumps after scoring 36. Harshil Dharmani was the reason why the score climbed to a competitive one.
