SY won by 90 runs
11:02 PM IST and Local Time: Shivamogga Yodhas have completely ruled the roost throughout the game and defeated the Mysore Warriors by a huge margin of 90 runs. Batting first Yodhas got 190 runs beside their name but the Warriors could only score 100 before getting bundled out. This loss will hurt the Mysore-based franchise a lot.

Mysore Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl first. Luvnith Sisodia and Tushar Singh got the Shivamogga Yodhas off to a flying start. Tushar and Luvnith struck fiercely inside the powerplay and the Yodhas piled up the runs. Tushar was dismissed by Manoj Bhandage in the 7th over of the innings but till then, 79 runs had been scored in just 6.5 overs. Manoj Bhandage removed Aneesh KV in the very next ball and with those two jolts, Yodhas were 79/2 after 7 overs.

Then Smaran Ravichandran joined the well set Luvnith in the crease. Barring Bhandage, everybody went for runs. Smaran and Luvnith put up 45 runs for the third wicket. Luvnith got to his fifty in 27 balls and eventually scored 58 off 38 balls. He played five dot balls and was cleaned up by a yorker from Lavish Kaushal. In the next over, Madhav Bajaj dismissed Smaran who dragged a wayward ball to his stumps after scoring 36.
Harshil Dharmani was the reason why the score climbed to a competitive one. He got settled and contributed with a few big hits in the death overs and his valiant cameo took the team score to 190/8. He scored a fine 36 off 19 balls.

For the Mysore Warriors, Vyshak Vijaykumar and Manoj Bhandage picked up two wickets each. Lavish Kaushal, Monish Reddy and Madhav Bajaj picked up with a wicket each.

When Mysore Warriors came out to bat, the pitch did not feel any better. But it became worse than before and the new ball bowlers of Shivamogga Yodhas took the advantage. Abhilash Shetty removed Chethan LR and Lankesh KS inside the first three overs. Karthik SU was batting well for his 16 off 15 balls but Shreesha Achar removed him. Luvnith Sisodia's brilliant glovework got the better of Karthik. Yuvraj Arora and KP Karthikeya failed to impress and the Warriors got reduced to 46/5.

Yash Raj Punja entered the fray after that and removed Sagar Gowtham in his very first ball. In the same over, he removed Madhav Bajaj and the Warriors were on the cusp of a huge defeat. Ritesh Bhatkal and Manoj Bhandage added 21 for the 8th wicket where Bhatkal scored the bulk of the runs. Both of them fell in the space of just three deliveries and the scoreboard showed 75/9 in the 13th over. Bhatkal hit a boundary and a maximum to score 17. Then Vyshak Vijaykumar and Lavish Kaushal delayed the defeat and their 25-run stand reduced the margin of it. Vyshak was trapped in front by Yash Punja for 13 and the Warriors were bundled out for just 100. Yash Punja finished with 4/30 and derailed the entire lower order.

Abhilash Shetty used his inswinging deliveries well and took 2 wickets for 10 runs in his 2 overs. Shreesha Achar's arm balls were deadly for the Yodhas' batters as the former finished with 2/9 in his 3 overs. Yashovardhan Parantap and Mohsin Khan picked up a wicket each.
Vyshak Vijaykumar (Mysore Warriors Captain): "(Your thoughts on the game) I thought we restricted them to 20 runs less. Because the way they batted in the powerplay, I thought the wicket to be really good. In the second innings, it started swinging and started turning.

(Do you think the pitch changed a bit when you came to bat?) For sure. It was going to remain the same for the entire 40 overs but the credit goes to them for bowling in better lines than us.

(Monish and Manoj Bhandage bowled well. Must be some positives for you?) Yes look this is the first game. So many people are playing for the first time. It is a tough loss but we have to comeback now."
Player of the Match: Luvnith Sisodia
Smaran Ravichandran (Shivamogga Yodhas Captain): "(Were you 10-15 runs short?) Yes definitely. When we saw the wicket, we thought anything close to 210 will be a good total. Harshil batted brilliantly. We were in a tricky situation but he batted us through.

(Are you fairly certain about batting order?) Obviously every guy who walks in to bat in our team is a floater. They are used to bat in different position for their clubs. They are dynamic enough to put the pressure on the opponents. We do experiment and send batters as per the situation.

(Bowling was spectacular. Any special words for them?) I think it is an all-round job from everybody. They came in and executed their plans. We have one of the best bowling units in this tournament. With Yash Raj Punja being the lead spinner, it is tough to hit him because of his conviction. But we can not relax because it is continous games. We are playing again tomorrow and have to take the momentum forward.

(You are the title favourites. Your thought on that?) I think we too have a strong team but cricket is a game where the team that plays better on the day becomes the winner. We do not take any of the opponents lightly."
That marks the end of our coverage from the first day of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026. We saw the first match to be very competitive where the Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters toppled the Gulbarga Mystics but the game went down the wire till the last ball. Then in the second match, it was a completely lopsided one. Shivamogga Yodhas outplayed the Mysore Warriors and got a massive victory by a margin of 90 runs.

That's it from us today. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of the scorer/analyst of this match Paras Yadav. Do join us tomorrow for the double-header as it promises to be another thrilling Sunday. Good night.
