Rinku Singh (Meerut Mavericks Captain): "(Were you confident to defend your score?) No, no, we weren’t that confident that we would defend these runs today. We haven’t batted that well, and this was our fourth match. Our batsmen are not really in form at the moment. So, given the low score, we weren’t overly confident that we would win the match.
But Kartik Tyagi bowled really well, Yash bowled well, and everyone bowled well. Body language is important—how you carry yourself in a match. Our body language was very good today.
(On Meerut's batting) Yes, their team bowled very well. We could have made better shot selections with our batting.
(On Kartik Tyagi) Normally, I use him as a one-change bowler. But I thought, ‘Let me give him the new ball and see how he goes,’ because he bowls very fast, and when you have that kind of pace along with swing, there are always good chances of getting wickets. So that was my thinking behind giving him the new ball.
(Were you tempted to bowl Kartik four overs on the trot?) There is a bit of tactics involved. I could have given him all four overs, but you have to look at his body as well. Because he bowls so fast, his body can get tired. The ground is also soft, so his feet start sinking into the surface and he can't generate as much power."

Kartik Tyagi (POTM): "(On his rhythm) Yes, sir, I am confident. I performed well in the IPL this year as well, and I brought that confidence into this tournament. I’m trying to continue the same thing. I keep two things in mind: staying fit, continuing to play, and showing that I’m available for every format.
(On getting momentum) My first wicket was the most important, sir. It gave me the momentum to become more aggressive. We had discussed before the game that if we took wickets, considering how tough the wicket was, we could put pressure on them. Once I got that first wicket and they were two down, we felt that we had really got into the game. So, that first wicket was very important for me.
(Did you ask for the new ball from Rinku?) It was his decision, sir. He said that if we wanted to win the match, we'd have to try and take wickets early. But whenever I go onto the field, I always repeat two things to myself: stick to my process and be brave. The entire team showed bravery today. There's a saying, ‘Fortune favours the brave,’ and the same thing happened with us.
(On his UP T20 journey) Of course, sir. I had already thought that I wanted to do well in 2026. When I came here last year, I had almost been out of the game for a year, so there was pressure in my mind that I needed to make a comeback and perform well here. This tournament has contributed a lot to my life and to my cricket, and I have a lot of respect for it. That's why whenever I come here, I always try to give my absolute best."

Another match got decided by the DLS method and another game went in favour of Meerut Mavericks. This time, they beat Noida Kings by 23 runs (DLS method) and managed to defend a very low score. With this win, Meerut remain at the top of the points table and are still unbeaten this season. Meanwhile, Noida Kings have suffered their second loss of the season.
