Pakistan Women Opt To Bat 🏏

Harmanpreet Kaur is set to make history as the first captain across both men's and women's international cricket to lead their country in 150 T20Is.
7:25 PM IST, 5:55 PM local time: We are only about 5 minutes away from the scheduled time for the toss. Harmanpreet Kaur is on the park, talking to head coach Amol Mazumdar. The smiles on the faces of both tell us that they are pretty much 'in the zone'. Farveez Maharoof is ready to conduct the toss.

Also, it is Jemimah Rodrigues' birthday today. Of course, she is not here due to an injury. Pratika Rawal, who replaced her in the squad, has not yet set the stage on fire. She would be wanting to make the most of tonight.
TOSS UPDATE: Pakistan Women won the toss and opt to bat
PAK-W won the toss and opt to bat
Fatima Sana (Pakistan Women Captain):  "[Toss decision and reason behind it] We want to bat first. We want to put the maximum total on the board.

We know we have a good bowling side, we will try to restrict them so that's why.

We had a good chat within the team. We will try to play according to the surface. They are a good side.

No, we are going with the same side.
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): (Happy chasing today?) Yes, our bowling has been good in the tournament so far. It is a good opportunity to bowl first.

(On adapting to different situations while chasing) Yeah, definitely. I think while batting, it's always about giving yourself some time and then going for your shots. I think the first two games we did very well in that department, and hopefully we'll continue.

(On playing her 150th T20I game as a skipper) Yeah, definitely, great achievement. I think the pressure remains the same, no matter how much you play, but the key is to keep enjoying yourself on the field. That is the key, and I hope to keep doing that.

(On what total would India like to restrict Pakistan?) We'll try to restrict them to a shorter total, so that while chasing we don't feel any pressure.

(On the team changes) No, we're going with the same eleven."
After having won the first two games batting first, India have been asked to chase by Pakistan tonight. Both teams are going unchanged from their respective last fixtures.
