Deepak: That’s the end of the 19th Hundred’s match between Birmingham Phoenix and Northern Superchargers. Where Northern Superchargers thumped Phoenix by 32  runs. A disappointing display of batting in the middle from Birmingham Phoenix after getting a good start in the powerplay they were unable to capitalize on it and they had to bear the brunt of it.

Earlier Northern Superchargers scored 169 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 100 balls and asked Birmingham Phoenix to chase down 170 runs.

Will Smeed and Miles Hammond came out to open the inning for Phoenix and started their innings with a cracking boundary. The duo started destroying the bowler’s from the very first over and built a partnership of 45 runs for the first wicket as Will Smeed gave his wicket to Willey on the 24th ball of the match and departed scoring 15 runs off 8 balls and was soon joined by Liam Livingstone and Skipper Moen Ali, and were struggling at 57 runs on the boards at the loss of 3 wickets.

Birmingham Phoenix batters didn’t settle in the middle and kept losing wickets on the regular interval like a pack of cards and were only able to score 137  runs at the loss of 9 wickets in their 100 balls quota.

On the other hand, David Wiese was the pick of the bowler who picks up 3 wickets giving away  15  runs in his 20 balls quota. David Willey picked 2 wickets. Bravo, Miles, Raine, and Rashid shared one wicket each.

David Wiese | Hero of the Match: "Sometimes it works out for you, it's what I've been trying to do the whole tournament, come out and help the team in the end stages. It's about confidence, you have to back yourself to hit it out of the park if it's in the zone. We've given ourselves a bit of hard work to do to make it to the finals, it's important to not peak too early in the tournament, hopefully we can sneak into the playoff spots. It's nice to build a little momentum with this victory."
