17:07 IST | Saiprasad | Review: With that single wide of mid-on fielder, India-W won the match by 34 runs. Sri Lanka-W only manages to score 104 runs with the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. They take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series. A professional bowling performance from Harmanpreet Kaur and her girls.
In the beginning, Sri Lanka was a bit slow to start but then started to build some momentum. Radha Yadav struck twice in three balls to remove Chamari Athapaththu and Harshitha Madavi, which forced an uncharacteristic cautious approach from the rest of the batters. While Kavisha Dilhari did her best, her strike rate under 100 meant that it would never be enough, especially after chasing at 9 RPO in the last 10 overs.
The bowling today from India was very good and the extras column is only an honest reflection of that. India scored 20 runs off the final over, which gave the visitors some confidence going into the chase. They hardly bowled any bad deliveries today, most of the bowlers were trying to keep it on the stumps.
From the bowling department, India-W used 7 different bowlers today, and all the bowlers managed to keep their individual economy rates under 9 RPO. While Deepti Sharma bowled at an economy rate of 3 RPO with the reward of 1 wicket. Pooja Vastrakar and Shafali Verma picked up 1-1 wickets each as well. However, the game-changer of the match, Radha Yadhav picked up 2 wickets in an over which send Sri Lanka-W way behind in the game. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony.
