Post-Match Summary: This match has not offered us what it promised to be at the start of the play, but still it is a watchable affair.  Sri Lankan woman won the toss and they decided to bat first. Right from the first ball itself, their batters looked out of momentum, due to which they were not able to stay in the middle for their whole 50 overs also. They got all out at the par score of just 171 runs in 48.2 overs for which they had a bat on.

Hasini Perera was the only batter who looked in some great touch today, right from the start of her innings. She never got a chance to accelerate during her innings, due to the falling of wickets on the other end at regular intervals. She got out at a decent score of 37 runs, considering the nature of the surface which played higher on the slower side today.

After her, Nilakshi de Silva carried their team single-handedly on her shoulders. She scored a crucial knock of 43 from 63 deliveries. It is the result of her significant knock only, by which Sri Lankans had managed to post an average score of 171 runs.  From the Indian side, both Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh shared 3 wickets each. Pooja Vastrakar also balled really well and took 2 wickets.

After that team, India comes to bat.  Even after losing their star player Smriti Mandhana, team India never lost their chasing momentum. Shafali Verma played an aggressive knock of 35 runs which helped them to start off the chase on a high note.

After a sudden collapse of the middle order, their skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored a brilliant 44 runs from just 63 deliveries. But after this Ranaweera comes into the attack and she strikes immediately. She took 4 wickets and that too at a crucial stage. Her spell of 10 overs helped team Sri Lanka to be backed into the game, but Pooja Vastrakar showed great temperament and took her team to the victory. She scored 21 off just 19 deliveries.

This chase looked quite easy but is not like that. In the end, Indian Women win the first ODI of this three-match series and they started this series with winning momentum.
India won this match by 4 wickets.

Time for the Post-Match presentation ceremony!!!!!
Chamari Attapaththu(Sri Lanka-W Skipper): "Good start today. lost 15 runs. The thing is Shefali played well in the starting 10 overs. We had to score 240. Inoka Ranaweera experienced bowler did her best. We will try to bounce back in the next match."

Harmanpreet Kaur(India-W Skipper): "Enjoying myself while batting, when you keep getting runs you feel better and I am happy that I contributed to my team, We want to work on the partnerships in the middle we are happy that we got small partnership in the middle we will like to continue in the coming games if u have someone to bowl in the team then it gives us an extra cushion, Harleen and Shefali are not regular bowlers but they did a good job for and in future also would love to see them bowling, the left spinners were really good they didn't give us easy runs."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Deepti Sharma: I am a flexible player and can bat at any position as per the team's requirements. The pitch remained on the slower side a lot, throughout the play today and it is not an easy wicket to bat on. Pooja played some good strokes in the end which led us to the victory. Happy to begin this series on a positive note.
So with this, I Samanvaya Sharma along with my co-commentators Tugral and Hitesh sign off here. Hope you liked our coverage of this game. See you next time till then a very goodbye.
