Nat Sciver-Brunt (Player of the Match & England Women Captain): "Really happy to bat the way I did, I guess continue on what I was doing against Australia as well. I guess when we play so much cricket through the summer, we probably don't need to train too many things. Obviously, be right in the mind, be right in the body, and hopefully continue that mindset that I had. So, yeah, that's what I was trying to do. Tried to rest a little bit through the T-20 series and then made sure I was switched on when it did come to the ODI.
[Speaking about her comeback with the ball as she is not bowling due to a knee niggle] The plan is to be back for the Indian Series in December. The decision not to bowl post Ashes, I guess it was more to give the body a bit of a rest. I went through training without having to rush around and do everything all the time, so it was quite nice, actually. But now I'm looking forward to picking up the ball again. I guess when you're playing games, you want to influence or I want to influence as much as I can in every part of the game. So, yeah, I guess that's the best part of being an all-rounder. And yeah, fielding for 50 overs and not really being able to influence with the ball was a little bit frustrating, but, yeah, I was happy to have the body break for that.
It's brilliant. To come in and make such an impact in their first few games was really special to see Filer. We knew what she could do from the test match, but obviously put it into ODI cricket and there's a bit more pressure on the field and making sure the ball comes out a bit more consistently, but her pace was the most exciting thing about it, I guess. So, yeah, we want to harness that and hopefully give her a bit of a rest now and hopefully come December, be ready to go again."
