In pursuit of 127 runs, Harare Hurricanes did not get off to a good start as they lost their first wicket in the very first over when Robin Uthappa was sent back to the pavilion by Mohammad Amir after scoring just 1 run. After that, their skipper Eoin Morgan also lost his wicket. Hurricanes managed to score 21 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the powerplay.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Durban Qalandars came out to bat. Tim Seifert, their lone warrior, began the innings right from the first over. He played a remarkable inning, scoring 71 runs in just 31 balls, which proved beneficial for his team to achieve the target of 126 runs. Mohammad Nabi bowled well, taking 2 wickets while giving away only 9 runs. Similarly, Samit Patel also took one wicket.
