WICKET! That's the end of the innings. The Brave have finished it off with a ball to spare. Lauren Bell ends it in style. She bags another wicket here. Back of a length, stump to stump line. Baker hops back to tickle it in the leg-side but misses. The ball crashes on the top of the middle stump! As a result, the Phoenix get bowled out on 124 runs, and the Brave win this clash by 15 runs.

SBW won by 15 runs
6:15 PM IST, 1:45 PM Local Time: Southern Brave have just made two in two in this Hundred Women's competition. Danni Wyatt-Hodge laid the foundation in the first innings; but Lauren Bell, Sophie Devine and Tilly Coleman were the heroes in the latter half of the game.

Defending a total of 140 runs is never easy, but as hinted in the mid-innings, the wicket was on a slower side. And the Brave used it to their advantage. The home team operate with as many as four spinners, which helped them put brakes in the middle phase.

In the start, Bell and Devine started off well with the new cherry. The new-ball pair shared three wickets between them, inside the powerplay. Coleman's twin-blow first set followed it. The Phoenix were in deep waters after that. The spinners then started their operation and didn't allow the middle order to free their arms.

Steere Kalis, then, came to the rescue for the chasing side. She played a blinder of an innings- 44 off 34, but she was outdone by Bell in the final set. Eventually, the Brave won a clinical game.

Earlier in the day, Danni Wyatt-Hodge played a brilliant knock of 59 runs, where Laura Wolvaardt and Sophie Devine assisted her.

Sophie Devine (Hero of the Match): "Yeah, really pleased with the group. I thought Wyatt-Hodge was outstanding at the top of the order — the way she set up the game with the bat was exceptional. It was actually a bit trickier out in the middle than she probably made it look. We always knew it was going to be a competitive contest, especially with this Phoenix side having batters right through who can take the game away. Overall, a great game for us, and it’s always nice to get the win in front of the home crowd.

Yeah, it’s always nice to perform against teams you’ve played for in the past. It’s great coming up against old mates, and that’s one of the best things about this competition — every game is on the line, and you’ve got to be at your best. I’m happy to have contributed to the team today, but we also know this competition is far from over. We’ve got to stay sharp and keep learning from every opportunity we get.

Yeah, good. I just haven’t played much cricket over the last six months, so, as you probably saw, I was swinging like a rusty gate out there with the bat. But I’ve got confidence — I’ve played enough cricket to trust that it’ll come back. And when you’ve got someone like Danny at the other end hitting it for fun, it’s nice to just focus on rotating the strike. I know the form will come, and if I can contribute in any way, whether it’s with the bat or in the field, that’s exactly what I’m here for."
Right then, that's the end of the coverage of this Hundred clash, but there are three more games to go in the day. Stay tuned with us.

Till then, this is Arjun Bhalla signing off on behalf of Deepak Prakash and Bishal Mandal! See yaa!
