5:27 AM IST, 4:57 PM Local Time | Brampton Blitz register their first win in the Canada Super 60! They defeat their opponents by 7 wickets!
Brampton Blitz won the toss and elected to bowl first! Little did they know, they were in for a masterclass in power-hitting as Leus du Plooy raced away to 55 runs off 21 balls at the start, and Ranjane followed it up with an 11-ball 36 runs cameo to help Mississauga Masters put up 151/5 at the end of their 10 overs.
For Brampton Blitz, Dilon Heyliger was the pick of the bowlers with 3/30 from his 2 overs.
Come the chase, Mississauga Masters had a big total on board, but Brampton had some big batters on their roster. Guptill and Smeed started well, but luck eventually ran out for Guptill, as he fell to Ali Khan after scoring 21 runs off 12 balls. Will Smeed was looking in supreme touch, but his cameo came to a quick end too after scoring 24 runs off 8 balls. James Vince was quick to follow his openers back into the hut.
However, Alex Davies and David Wiese turned up the heat and started smashing the ball all around the park to keep Brampton Blitz in the game. Eventually, the duo blasted their way to a match-winning 91-run partnership off just 26 balls for the 4th wicket to claim the victory for their team.
David Wiese was the destructor-in-chief with an unbeaten score of 58 runs off 18 balls, with Alex Davies playing a valuable knock of 36 runs off 12 balls.
For Mississauga Masters, Ali Khan was their best bowler with 2/19 in his 2 overs, but despite his best efforts, it's Brampton Blitz who registered their first points on the table.
