Saim Ayub (POTM): "[On his batting] Yeah, thanks. I think the conditions were a bit challenging but the plan was to dominate against the new ball as much as possible. [On chat with his skipper] Just to dominate and calculate the innings. Watch the ball and enjoy.

[On the bowling plans] Yeah, we knew if we bowl a good length ball consistently, it was not easy to hit."
Travis Head (Australia Captain): "168 was enough. Disappointing, but that is how it worked out. I felt like trying to make the most of the first 10 overs was the key. As the ball got softer, run-scoring got harder. Guys did well. Mahli (Beardman) bowled well, Zamps (Adam Zampa) did his thing and (Xavier) Bartlett was impressive.

(On the plans for the World Cup) We'll see how it pans out. We still have two games. We have things to work out on before we go to Sri Lanka."
Salman Ali Agha (Pakistan Captain): "[On first win over Australia after 7 years] Yeah, it was a great game. We started well with the bat, could not finish the way we wanted. The ball was not coming onto the bat. It was challenging but with the ball, I guess we were outstanding.

[On his batting position] Yeah, I will be batting at 3. We are going to face a lot of spin in the powerplay. I feel I can dominate spin early on, that's why I batted at 3 and that's where I will bat.

[On thoughts at the halfway stage] To be honest, I guess 170 was enough. But the way we were in after 10 overs, we could have scored 10-15 more. But with 170, we knew, with the way the pitch was playing, it was going to difficult to chase.

[On Abrar Ahmed] I think Abrar has been outstanding since like his debut to be honest. Post Asia Cup and after, our spinners have been doing well for us. They are winning games in day in and day out for us, hopefully they can continue like that in the World Cup as well."
Pakistan have put in a performance that will definitely boost their confidence going forward. While Australia are sans some of their first choice players, they will still like to bounce back to winning ways before heading to the World Cup.

Hence, there will be plenty to look forward to in the remaining two matches of the series. Do join us for the next fixture on Saturday, January 31. For now, it is the troika of Darpan Tikiya, Ajay Pal Singh and Raju Khariya bidding you goodbye. See you soon!
