Louis Kimber to Tom Kohler-Cadmore
SIX RUNS! That's it! TKC finishes things in style! On a length just outside the off-stump. The right-hander stays back and tonks it flat and over the bowler's head for a biggie to finish things off. Somerset win by 7 wickets, with 30 balls to spare.

SOM won by 7 wickets
1:48 AM IST, 9:18 PM Local Time: Tom Kohler-Cadmore finishes things in style, and Somerset thumped Northamptonshire by 7 wickets, with 30 balls to spare. Three wins in a row for Somerset, and they keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

Earlier, after being put in to bat, Northamptonshire Steelbacks recovered from an early wobble to post 162 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks largely to a superb knock from Lewis McManus. The Steelbacks lost a couple of early wickets and were 45 at the end of the Powerplay before slipping to 70/3 at the halfway stage as Somerset's bowlers kept things tight.

McManus then turned the innings around with a counter-attacking 76 off 43 balls, bringing up a 31-ball half-century and leading the charge in the second half of the innings. He found timely boundaries against the seamers as Northamptonshire added 92 runs in the final 10 overs, despite losing wickets at the other end. McManus eventually fell off the last ball of the innings after playing a solid knock. For Somerset, Daniel Sams was the standout bowler with impressive figures of 3/16 from his four overs.

Chasing 163, Somerset made light work of the target, cruising to 164/3 in just 15 overs to seal a commanding seven-wicket victory with five overs to spare. The hosts got off to a flying start as Will Smeed and Thomas Rew added 74 runs for the opening wicket inside six overs. Both batters smashed 46 off just 20 balls, laying the perfect platform for the chase.

Although the openers fell in quick succession, Tom Kohler-Cadmore kept the momentum going with an unbeaten 38 off 28 balls, while James Rew chipped in with a brisk 24 off 18. Kohler-Cadmore and James Rew added 39 runs for the third wicket before Joshua Thomas joined the former to complete the chase with five overs remaining.

For Northamptonshire, Ben Sanderson, David Willey, and George Scrimshaw picked up a wicket each, but the bowlers had little answer to Somerset's aggressive batting as the hosts wrapped up the chase with ease.
Daniel Sams: "[You seemed to understand the pitch very quickly and stuck to your plan?] Yeah, I think we assessed it really quickly. The guys got us started really well. Craig, as usual, even when he goes for a couple of boundaries, just seems to get three wickets. Jake Ball's wicket to get Linny out was huge for us. We bounced off that momentum, assessed the pitch really well, and although it was a little tired with the used surface, we looked to take advantage of that.

[What sort of deliveries were you looking for? What sort of lengths and lines?] I think the key is to bowl through the top of the stumps, as usual here. For me in particular, with the pitch being a little tired, using my slower balls, which is a bit of a strength of mine, was important.

[How much are you enjoying it here at Somerset and building into the competition?] It's been awesome. Obviously, we didn't start well—we lost our first two games—but it's been great to get some wins back-to-back. The crowd here has been unbelievable, and we're really looking forward to Sunday night.

[Does it genuinely sink in? Are you able to savour nights like this?] Oh, 100%. Especially when I'm out on the road, just listening to the crowd, whether they're giving me a bit of stick for being Aussie or not. It's good fun, so I've really enjoyed it.

[On batters] Yeah, 100%. I think one of the best things about this group is our communication. As soon as we finished bowling, we had a conversation about what needed to be done. Smeed and Thomas Rew went out there and did exactly what they do. They got us off to a flyer and basically broke the back of the chase."
That's all from this one-sided contest, folks! For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off from this coverage on behalf of my colleagues, Arijit Kundu and Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
