WICKET! It all comes to an end with another slower ball. Very full ball on the stumps, 96 kph, pace off, Stone is an hour early on that one as he looks to slog it across the line. The ball arrives late and thuds into the middle pole after scooting underneath the bat. The Hampshire Hawks win by 27 runs and set up a date with Northamptonshire for the grand finale.
James Fuller finishes things off with a four-wicket haul to send the Hawks into the summit clash. Not much of a break for them, though. Hampshire are in the finals again! Somerset stopped them last season. Can Northants do the same this time around? We shall wait and see!

10:13 PM IST, 5:43 PM Local Time: Hampshire Hawks win by 27 runs! There you go! After two semifinals dominated by the bowlers, we have got our finalists. Hampshire Hawks vs Northamptonshire in the grand finale we all are looking forward to, and it shall play out in an hour's time. The Hawks put up a good score but at one point were trailing during the second innings. It was all about one wicket that opened the gates and the Nottinghamshire Outlaws fell apart like nine pins.
Nottinghamshire Outlaws won the toss and elected to bowl first. Amir got rid of Toby Albert early on before James Vince and Joe Weatherley added 126 runs for the second wicket. The partnership came to an end when Vince was dismissed for 59. Joe Weatherley continued on his merry way and got some good support from Hilton Cartwright at the backend. The former finished with 88* off 58 balls and the latter added 19* off just 9 balls. The Hampshire Hawks ended with 187/3 in 20 overs. The pick of the bowlers were Mohammad Amir (1-31), Benny Howell (1-21) and Dillon Pennington (1-39).
The chase was always going to be tricky on a surface that had something for the bowlers in it. The Outlaws did not get off to the best start as George Munsey was dismissed for 12 leaving the Outlaws at 15/1. Joe Clarke and Jack Haynes steadied the ship with a fine second wicket partnership. The added 85 runs in that with Clarke being the aggressor. They intentionally took on the spin of Liam Dawson and milked runs of him. However, it was Dawson who had the last laugh and dismissed Haynes for 25 breaking the stand.
That is where the match turned. It opened the gates for a classical collapse. Joe Clarke was dismissed in the very next over for 64. Tom Moores (9) and George Linde (8) could not make much of an impact and their wickets left the Outlaws at 131/5. Benny Howell re-instilled some hope with 19 off 11 but after his wicket another collapse broke out. The quick bowlers ran through the long-ish tail. From 144/5, the Outlaws slipped to 160 All Out. The pick of the bowlers were James Fuller (4-26), Chris Wood (2-31) and Scott Currie (2-33). Sonny Baker and Liam Dawson had a wicket each to their name.

Joe Weatherley (POTM): "[Noticed that both you and James Vince took a bit of time to get yourselves in] Yeah, it was always going to be tricky, to be honest, throughout the powerplay. It sort of got easier as we put a partnership together. We were aiming for 170 and ended up getting a bit more than that. It's by no means a poor surface, but there was just a bit of bounce during the powerplay and a bit of hold as the innings went on.
[Your skipper said at the toss that he would have bowled first as well. Are you glad he lost it?] Well, I think we're probably about four or five runs above par, so it doesn't seem to have any correlation. But yeah, it was good to put runs on the board. Always felt like if we took two wickets through those middle overs, we had a chance.
[Any particular bowling type or bowler that you came up against that you decided you needed a target at, as others were more difficult to get away?] Not really, just the flow of the innings. Vince played beautifully, as he did in the quarter-final, and we just sort of worked together. We've got firepower with our overseas players coming in at the back end, so that was kind of the way we set it up.
[Your reaction was very calm after the win. Is that experience helping you conserve energy with the final coming up soon?] Yeah, we've played in quite a few over the last five or six years, and it's very much a process now. It's sort of quite calm. Russell Domingo, our coach, is very much that way as well. So yeah, one game at a time, and it's all about executing on the day. We've picked up from this particular match that we can take into the final. Well, sure. I mean, this game was quite different from the first game. I think every game is its own individual contest, and you've got to win the contest. But yeah, we'll be looking to play well in the final and bring the trophy home."

After 108 group games, 4 quarterfinals and 2 semifinals we finally have our two best teams of the competition ready to battle it out for the elusive trophy. Northamptonshire who won their semifinal earlier in the day will take on Hampshire who just won their semifinal. The match is slated to begin at 11:15 PM IST (6:45 PM Local Time).
It is interesting to note that both teams won batting first. If the same strip is used once again the team batting second will have to face a few demons. A lot of excitement is all set to unfold ahead of us and just like you we are extremely excited.
