3 PM IST, 11.30 AM Local Time: Good afternoon, folks! Welcome to another day of the European T20 league. We are heading into yet another Super 4s clash of this remarkable league. Ghent Gladiators will take on the Akcel United Brussels. The occasion is coming your way live from Zemst in Belgium.

I, Manan Mehta alongside my co-commentator Dev Rajawat will take you through the ball-by-ball action of this game. The scorer for today is Paras Yadav.
The Super 4s are underway and we had two matches played yesterday. Well, in reality, only one of them was played and the other was washed out. But then, that has been the reality of this tournament, and the players just have to make peace with that. Do whatever is in your control and move forward.

Akcel United Brussels had a fantastic league stage where they won 2/4 games with the remaining two getting washed out. They certainly entered this Super 4s stage as favourites to top it but the tides have turned. Cricket is very fickle and despite a great league stage, Brussels have managed to drop their first Super 4s clash. That pushes them a tad onto the backfoot and makes things interesting. The team was blown away by a Martin Guptill special and within 24 hours, they need to find a way to fight back.

If you are Ghent Gladiators, all you want is to play a game of cricket. In the 6 matches they have played so far in the tournament including the league stage and the Super 4s, 5 have been abandoned. The only one they actually played, they lost it in the super over. So they really haven't been able to make any impact as such in a good or a bad way. If they do get some game time today, even if it is a shortened game, they would love to bring out their best version and further dent Brussels' fortunes in the tournament.

Remember only the best two teams out of the remaining 4 go to the final. Weather? Well, that is the simplest question to answer. As it has been all week, the weather continues to be patchy with rain threats looming on the match. The one thing we can say almost certainly is that it will rain. What cannot be predicted is how much and for how long. Stay tuned for the toss and playing XIs...
3:31 PM IST and 12:01 PM Local Time: The toss for this contest has been delayed as there was a lot of overnight rain in the locality. The rain is currently stopped but the damp patches around the wicket are delaying the action coming ahead. The next inspection will take place at 4 PM IST (12:30 PM Local Time)
Jonathan Trott (Ghent Gladiators Head Coach): (On the five abandoned matches) "Yeah, it's been frustrating for sure. I think we've played some really good cricket as well. Not having any of the results, and also not being able to gauge ourselves as a side over a full 40 overs, has been difficult. We had a tie in the Super Over, but somehow came away without the points from that game. But we've got a great bunch of guys who are desperate to play. We're definitely very keen to get out of this stage of the tournament.

(On the bowling group) I know they're fresh. I know they're raring to go. It's been quite easy work for the physios and the backroom staff. But we are a group of guys who are very keen to play. We're all here for a reason. We spend a lot of time off the field and in the hotel, so we desperately want to get out there and play.

(On the batting form and adapting to conditions) I think we've worked out how to go about the pitch. It's not your stereotypical T20 pitch that we've seen in the IPL or around the world. The dimensions are obviously very different. It's more a case of guys getting themselves in and getting accustomed to the bounce and pace of the ball. Every pitch has been a little bit different. It's a case of trusting your instinct and assessing the conditions very quickly.

(On Josh Brown's form) He seems to have adjusted really well. I think everyone was a little unsure how the pitch was going to play in the first couple of games. It's been about getting used to the conditions. The most amazing thing for me as a coach is seeing players adjust. Not just come here and play, but adapt their games. It's really interesting to watch how players go about it.

(On the team atmosphere) A few of the Aussie boys, Sam Harper and Josh Brown, have been entertaining. Ben Manenti has got a few words to say. George Munsey is never shy of an opinion. Harper always keeps the positivity around. I think we've got a great blend of guys. The fantastic thing about this tournament is that the local players are able to be in and amongst players who play T20 cricket all around the world. It's creating that culture. It's our responsibility as coaches and overseas players to impart as much knowledge as possible and grow the game here as quickly as we can.

(On the future of the tournament) I think it's got legs. Obviously, there are a few teething issues. But the infrastructure is starting to be laid down. Being the first turf pitch in Belgium, you're starting to make the right strides. Hopefully, that can grow, and when we come back next year, we'll see improvement.

(On his team's attitude) I've been really complimentary about the guys' attitude whenever they come here and warm up. The attitude has been really great throughout the tournament. The players realise it hasn't been ideal, but we've made the best of what we've got. The guys have just got on with it. The grounds staff have been fantastic as well with what they've had to work with. From that side, everything has been done, and I think the cricket has improved as well."
3:54 PM IST and 12:24 PM Local Time: It has started to drizzle once again, and the covers are coming on. The intensity of the shower is not much, but it is enough to keep us away from the toss and other rituals.
4:30 PM IST, 1 PM LOCAL TIME: The waiting game continues here as the situation remains completely unchanged. The heavy covers are still firmly in place across the square, and a persistent, frustrating drizzle appears to be lingering over the ground. There is absolutely no sign of improvement from the weather gods at the moment, which unfortunately means we are buckled in for a significantly long delay before we can even think about getting any live action underway.
5:10 PM IST and 1:40 PM Local Time: Nothing different to report as of now. We are still playing the waiting game and advice you to do the same. It is raining and there is nothing much apart from covers on the field.
5:22 PM IST, 1:52 PM LOCAL TIME: It was always going to be the case, and now it is official - the inevitable has happened, and the match has been abandoned without a single ball being bowled. The persistent drizzle simply refused to relent, leaving the match officials with no choice but to call it off, meaning both teams will walk away with a point apiece. It is a deeply frustrating result for the players and fans alike, marking yet another game in the EU T20 Belgium that has been completely washed out by this relentless summer rain.
Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator, Manan Mehta, and scorer Paras Yadav. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!
