Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Yeah, I thought they came out with a lot of intent and played really well, putting us under a lot of pressure straight away. They had a good powerplay, so it was tough to drag it back from there. We fought well, but I thought they bowled really well in that middle phase. We started well and had some good momentum, but they took wickets at crucial times and defended really well.
(On not using variations in the powerplay) You could change things up a little or maybe do something a bit quicker. I felt there were a couple of balls where perhaps we could have made it a bit tougher for them to score boundaries, making them work harder for it. The conditions were quite extreme with the short side and the wind, so it was challenging. They played well.
Yeah, he (Archer) bowled really well despite being away from international cricket for a long time. It looks like he hasn't been away at all.
I thought outside the powerplay was always going to be the challenge. I think we saw that in Australia's innings. As I said, we had a really good start, but credit to Australia for their performance. I thought in that middle phase, Adam Zampa bowled very well, and the seamers were very disciplined, forcing hits to the long side. We played against a really good team today and came second, but everything is laid out for us. We need to dust ourselves down and go again."
