Rachael Haynes: "We wanted to finish the series on a high and that's a statement from us ahead of the World Cup. The pitch was a bit tricky in the first few overs but was good in the later stages of the innings. Everyone has waited for it and it's a sense of relief to win the Ashes. It's a special feeling to win emphatically. Good to see everyone step up. (On World Cup preparations) We have got a hard hotel quarantine, unfortunately. But we will get started when we get back on the field."

Annabel Suntherland | Player of the Match: " I am enjoying my cricket and enjoying it with the girls out there. It's huge playing against England. They are a tough opposition and its was a good challenge. It was a lovely ground, more for the batters than the bowlers. We have a lot of depth in our squad and I just look to do as much as I can"

Tahlia McGrath | Player of the Series: "I'm really enjoying my cricket and it's always a proud feeling whenever I wear this Aussie t-shirt. It was extremely difficult to break into the side and it is a world-class side. So it was difficult and I'm not a fan of being on the sidelines. I worked hard with my mental state. Along with my coaches, we have worked out on some aspects and it is working for me. So happy with how I'm going at the moment."
Heather Knight | Losing Captain: "It was not the ideal build-up to this Ashes. The way we started the series going toe to toe with their batters, but we lost the big moments and that's frustrating. If we could have taken them, the Ashes would be alive. In the last two matches, we were outplayed by Australia. I thought the test match, we gave our best and tried our best to do the best, but I guess a bit of mental fatigue crept in towards the end. Not an ideal ODI series and preparation going into New Zealand. We will look to freshen up and hit the reset button and come back and try and defend the trophy. We will hope to bounce back and start afresh in New Zealand and try to learn the learnings of this series."
Meg Lanning | Winning Captain: "It's been an outstanding series. Firstly, I would like to thank the England camp and the support staff to come out here and play a series. It has been a team effort from us and everyone has stepped up. We have done extremely well to adapt to the conditions in whatever challenges were thrown to us. Credit to the young players to step up whenever they got an opportunity. We have a good amount of period before the World Cup. I guess we will play our first game on March 10 and we have had good preparations going into the World Cup. I would like to thank Cricket Australia and England Cricket Board to organize this series with all the challenges around. Also, would love to thank the fans out there. We missed you in the stadiums and thanks for everyone involved."
Now, the Australians gather with the trophy all smiles on their faces and rightly so, as they will rejoice it for sure. Meg Lanning and Company deserve this trophy as they have been heads and shoulders above the other teams. Congratulations to Australia and England with a lot of thinking to do as we approach the ICC Women's World Cup in New Zealand starting on 4th March 2022.
