6:04 PM IST, Local Time: A disastrous batting display from Bandra Blasters, as they faced a massive collapse in the latter half of the innings and lost the game from a commanding position. Excellent bowling display from the Royals and they helped their side win the game by 25 runs.

Earlier, MSC Maratha Royals staged a remarkable recovery from a precarious position to post an imposing 203/8 in 20 overs. After being invited to bat first, the Royals got off to a flying start through Sahil Bhagwanta Jadhav's 16 off 6 balls, but regular wickets saw them slip to 36/3 inside five overs. Chinmay Sutar and Ayaz Khan then steadied the innings with a crucial 40-run partnership, with Ayaz smashing 31 off 16 balls and Sutar contributing 31 off 24 deliveries. Sutar further added valuable runs alongside Om Bangar (19 off 13) to keep the innings afloat.

However, Bandra Blasters fought back brilliantly, reducing the Royals from 113/5 to 130/8 in the 15th over, with Aashray Sajnani and Royston Dias claiming two wickets each. Just when the Royals looked destined for a below-par total, Tushar Deshpande (55* off 25) and Rohan Raje (28* off 14) unleashed a stunning counterattack, adding an unbeaten 73 runs off 33 balls to propel their side past the 200-run mark.

After being asked to chase a daunting target of 204, Bandra Blasters made a flying start through Suved Parkar and Prateek Kumar Yadav. The opening pair added 67 runs in just 6.2 overs, with Prateek playing a breathtaking knock of 47 off 22 balls, smashing four fours and four sixes. Suved continued the momentum and stitched together useful partnerships with Parag Khanapurkar and Jay Sanjay Jain, helping the Blasters reach a strong position at 160/2 in the 15th over. Jain provided excellent support with a quickfire 46 off 23 deliveries, while Suved anchored the chase brilliantly with a 40-ball 56.

However, the match turned dramatically once Jay Jain departed. From a commanding 160/2, Bandra Blasters suffered a massive collapse, losing their remaining eight wickets for just 18 runs. Tushar Deshpande sparked the turnaround with a superb spell of 2/12 from three overs, while Irfan Umair chipped in with two wickets. Maxwell Swaminathan, Atharva Bhosale and Rohan Raje also made crucial breakthroughs as the Royals tightened the screws. Bandra were eventually bowled out for 178 in 17.5 overs.

Stay tuned for the presentation.....
Suved Parkar (Bandra Blasters Captain): "[On collapse] I think that was due to the mindset of every batsman, and that's why you can see how the result unfolded.

[On discussion with Jay] Jay and I knew we had been batting well throughout the season, so our goal was to go out there and play our natural game.

[On death bowling] Maybe our pace bowlers, and the bowlers in general, need to execute their plans better. That's what I can say.

[Where do you think exactly you fell short all through this league?] I think when we start conceding runs, they just keep flowing. That's something we really need to sort out. If we can fix that, the difference will be huge. They were 130/8 at one stage, and if we had managed to bowl them out for around 160, Jay and I would have backed ourselves to chase that target comfortably."
Player of the Match: Tushar Deshpande
Tushar Deshpande (POTM): "I was just waiting for the right time to attack the pacers. The spinners were getting a bit of grip and turn from the surface, so I was happy to bide my time and wait for the opportunities against the seamers."
Siddhesh Lad (MSC Maratha Royals Captain): "[What were you telling your boys?] No, I think it's a belief that we have within the team. Unless you believe, you can't win games like these. It was the same in our last match as well. At one stage, it looked one-sided, but it eventually went down to the final over. I'm very proud of the boys for the way they kept fighting and never gave up, and thankfully, we were able to come out on top again.

[Tell us honestly, when these two were at the crease, did you imagine that you're going to get the kind of total you did eventually?] To be honest, at that stage we were probably looking at a total of around 170. We still had six overs left, but we were already eight wickets down, so the plan was simply to bat through the next two or three overs and then try to score 30 or 40 runs in the final few overs to get ourselves to around 170. But the way Tushar Deshpande and Rohan Raje batted was unbelievable. The shots they played completely changed the game and took us to a total we hadn't even imagined at that point.

[How difficult is it to carry the tag of defending champions every time you step onto the hallowed turf of Wankhede Stadium?] Look, there's always going to be pressure, but we don't want to carry the baggage of being defending champions. This is a new season for us, and we've started from scratch. We're a fresh group, we're hungry, and we're motivated to go out there and win another trophy."
That’s all from this contest, folks! For now, it’s me, Deepak Prakash, signing off from this coverage along with scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. CHEERS!
