Earlier, Ireland Women won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost Orla Prendergast and Amy Hunter early.
Leah Paul then came in at 4 and joined hands with her skipper. The duo put up a stunning 107 run stand for the third wicket and helped their side to get a daunting score of 169/5.
Leah Paul remained not out till the end and top scored for her side with a knock of 79 runs off 45 balls.
Nahida Akter impressed with the ball as she gave away just 20 runs and picked up a wicket as well in her 4 overs.
Chasing 170, Bangladeshi openers started off in quick fashion from the ball one. They were supported by some sloppy fielding by the Irish Women. Dilara Akter and Sobhana Mostary put up 103 run for the first wicket.
With 71 runs required in 54 balls, Bangladesh Women were cruising along with the game. Ireland Women then struck 3 back to back wickets and got back into the game.
Sharmin Akhter and Taj Nehar played some quickfire cameos and brought their side into the game. With 18 runs needed from 12 balls, Bangladesh Women were running away with the match.
Orla Prendergast then bowled a splendid penultimate over for her side, as she bowled a double wicket maiden over. In the end , Arlene Kelly then held her nerves in the last over and won it for her side by a margin of 12 runs. Stay tuned for the presentations!
