2:18 PM IST and Local Time: Chandigarh beat Hyderabad by four wickets and a ball remaining in this nail-biter. They earn four valuable points and get to twelve points. But Hyderabad remains at the top of Elite Group B with 20 points.
During the chase, Manan Vohra and Arjun Azad initiated the chase, aggregating 41 runs together. While Vohra departed in the final of the 46-run powerplay, Azad continued to tick the scoreboard. The spinners operated in the middle overs phase and curbed the runs. They were brilliant, alongwith Arfaz Ahmad, checking runs in the middle over phase.
Subsequently, a 68-run stand was added in between, but the captain Shivam Bhambri was playing ultra-slow. As a result, the middle and lower middle-order succumbed to the exerted pressure in the slog overs phase.
With 24 needed from the last three overs and eight wickets in hand, Chandigarh lost four wickets after Azad's 63 off 48 balls. Eventually, they needed 12 off the last over, and a six helped them overhaul the chase with a ball in hand.
Earlier, Hyderabad posted 146/8 in 20 overs after a mixed outing with the bat. They stumbled early, losing both openers cheaply as Jagjit Singh struck twice in his first over. Aman Rao (33) and Pragnay Reddy (43) rebuilt the innings with a vital 75-run stand, but their dismissals in quick succession—both taken by Chiragvir Dhindsa—halted the momentum. The lower order couldn’t capitalise, though Tanay Thyagarajan’s 27 helped push the total past 140. Rohit Dhanda delivered an excellent final over, conceding just two runs and taking a wicket. Jagjit Singh starred with the ball for Chandigarh, claiming 3 wickets. Chiragvir Dhindsa and Sandeep Sharma chipped in with a couple of wickets each, while Rohit Dhanda contributed a solitary wicket.
