Imam-ul-Haq (Pakistan): "[On the good memories at Lord's] The perfect start you have just told me. The important thing when you play is all about the memories. My personal memories here have been the 2019 World Cup, the 2018 Test match, my first ever Test over here and we won that. So, when things are not going right and you play at a ground where you have good memories, it is very nice. Group is also feeling that. I guess we are lucky enough to be back at Lord's. Looking forward to it.
[On coming back from the loss in the first Test] Whenever a touring side comes to England, it is always tough. This is why you play cricket. To cope with the pressure. To handle the mental side of the game. We lost the match. However, we had a great meeting, a great chat as a group. We touched on points of how do we go about for the upcoming matches. We had some tough meetings as well and I feel that was needed for the group. The group is feeling very good. To be honest, at this stage it is about backing each other. We are coming from the West Indies and I think we are very well prepared. It is just about that the mental side. How each player is feeling mentally and how he copes with the pressure. We know as a group that when we are thrown to the bus, then we comeback very strongly.
[On his own batting] To be honest, it has been 7-8 years since I have been playing cricket. I have been in and out of the side as well. It really helps me when I play first class cricket. I really want to improve more, and I really want to score big runs. In the last 3-4 matches, there are many 40s and 50s but no major performances. If I touch on the first innings shot, I was not happy. I have to control those shots. When you come to England, when the ball moves, you have to be more patient. Kookabura makes you think that after 40-50 overs, you are set and you can play shots. Over here, you have to be careful. I have spoken to the coach as well and hopefully when I get to bat in that part of my innings, I will be careful.
[On posing in front of Inzamam-ul-Haq's (his uncle) picture at Lord's] Yeah, he was a matchwinner. It is a great picture by the way. I was feeling a bit awkward to pose in front of that picture. Whenever, I see it, I really get motivated. I want to do it, I cannot. The skill he had, I do not think so I have. I though, want to be in that zone where I can win matches for Pakistan because he was famous for this. As a group we were very happy that a Pakistan legend's picture was there at Lord's."
