11:03 PM Local Time: What a solid performance from the Shivamogga Yodhas as they wrap up a 42-run win over the Hubli Tigers. A good comeback from the R Smaran-led side after losing their previous two matches.

Chasing 221 for victory, Hubli Tigers got off to the worst possible start as Preetesh Ingle was caught-behind off Abhilash Shetty's bowling on the very first ball of the innings. Hardik Raj came out with positive intent while Mohammed Taha also accelerated after a slow-ish start to help the Tigers make 64/1 in the Powerplay.

Hardik got a reprieve at the start off the eighth over but Mohsin Khan still had him caught at deep mid-wicket. The injured Aneeshwar Gautam didn't last long as well with Shreesha Achar accounting for his scalp. A few overs later, Abhilash came back into the attack and handed a double blow to the Tigers by dismissing Taha and Abhinav Manohar in the space of three deliveries. Naveen MG also got into the act with the wicket of Shivkumar Rakshith while Manvanth Kumar had some fun in the middle before he became Mohsin's second wicket. The star pacer, Abhilash finished with four scalps as Mayank Agarwal holed out to long-off while Shikhar Shetty was run-out in the end with the Hubli Tigers being bowled out for 178 off 19.3 overs.

Earlier in the match, the Yodhas' decision to promote Naveen MG worked like a treat as he joined forces with Luvnith Sisoda to help their team make 73/0 in the Powerplay. They put on a 100-run stand and the partnership was only broken in the 11th over with Hardik Raj making the breakthrough. The Yodhas' captain, Smaran then stitched another fine 65-run stand with Naveen to consolidate the team's position.

In the last last five overs, the Tigers did make a small comeback with the duo of Kumar LR and Vaibhav Sharma taking two wickets apiece. However, Tushar Singh and Bheem Rao Navale took 19 runs off the final over bowled by Vaibhav to ensure that the Yodhas posted a daunting 220/5 on the board.
Aneeshwar Gautam (Hubli Tigers Captain): (On the defeat and the target they were chasing) "I think we probably gave away 20 runs too many. We should have taken our chances in the field. Even then, I felt the target was chaseable. We started really well, but we needed one or two more partnerships to carry on from there, and unfortunately, that didn't happen.

(On the pitch slowing down in the second innings) Looking at the last few games, I think the pitch has slowed down in the second innings, so it wasn't really a surprise. That's one of the reasons both captains wanted to bat first. Maybe it turned a little more than we expected, but we knew it would get slower.

(On the batting effort) We got off to a good start, but we weren't able to build on it. A couple of partnerships in the middle overs could have made a big difference.

(On Mayank Agarwal batting at No. 5) We wanted to maintain the left-right combination and also make use of the shorter boundary on one side. That was the thinking behind the move."
Time for the post-match Presentation!
Manvanth Kumar gets the 'Catch of the Match' award.
Naveen MG bags the 'Super Sixes' award.
Abhilash Shetty gets the 'Trusted Player of the Match' award.
Ravichandran Smaran (Shivamogga Yodhas Captain): "I think the wickets are playing really well batting first and majority of the wins have come batting first. The first game we won too, we defended the target. So, the thought process was to give the bowlers a good total. We took out Naveen MG's stats and saw that he strikes at 180-200 in the Powerplay. He completely changed the game. Both of them are strike bowlers. It is great to see both of them coming to the party. Hopefully, this is just the start. Obviously, I am striking the ball well. Hopefully, one knock away from a big score but glad to contribute. It is a very crunch tournament. There are games everyday and the table can change over-night."
So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Dev Rajawat. A note of thanks to our scorer, Ashok Dayma as well. Do switch over to the coverage of the match between England and the West Indies in a clash which will decide the 1st semi-finalist of the 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Until next time, it is a warm good-bye from us.
