After a delayed toss due to a wetfield, India won the toss and put the Kiwis into bat! A rain stoppage in the powerplay, and the game was reduced to 37 overs-a-side. On the back of an incredible bowling performance led by RS Ambrish's 4/29 from 9 overs, and Henil Patel's 3/23 from 7.1 overs, India dismissed New Zealand for 135 in 36.2 overs!
For New Zealand, Callum Samson was their best batter with an unbeaten 37 runs off 48 balls. Selwin Sanjay's 28 and Jacob Cotter's 23 were the only other 2 scores to cross the 20-run mark. Khilan Patel, Mohamed Enaan, and Kanish Chouhan picked up a solitary wicket each to round off an incredible bowling effort from India.

We had a plan before to hit the top of off. We stuck to it. With some odd bounce off the deck, it would've worked. We had a sharp fielding to support that.

I think we certainly we will not make excuses. Yes it is a bit disappointing the way we played today. We still believe we will do well in the Super Six although we are going there playing just one game."

Ayush Mhatre (India U-19 Captain): "There was simple plan. Balls were coming nicely onto the bat so just wanted to batted long. (On being asked if he hit the balls because of the rain threat)No no there was no plan regarding it. I just wanted to see the ball and it was coming good onto the bat.
Bowlers had a plan to bowl good bouncers. They executed the plans well. The coaches are really good. We are getting some lovely meetings and I am happy for them. They are not over confident."
