Rahmanullah Gurbaz (54 off 35) and Mavendra Dindyal (33 off 17) started off in style adding 46 runs for the first wicket. Hunain Shah got the first breakthrough in the 5th over as he cleaned up Dindyal. Gurbaz was then joined by Shai Hope, the duo adding 68 runs for the 2nd wicket. Gurbaz was then caught by Rovman Powell off Maaz Sadaqat's bowling - 5 fours and 3 sixes in his innings.
An excellent 6-wicket win with allround performances from both the batting and bowling units. Imran Tahir winning the toss elected to bowl first. Hassan Khan hit an unbeaten 62 in 29 balls with 6 sixes to take the Jamaica Kingsmen to 159/7. Khary Pierre was the pick of the GAW bowlers with 2/21 off his 4 overs, Dwaine Pretorius picked up 2/20 in the powerplay, Mohammad Nabi in his 500th T20 picked up 1/25.

Dwaine Pretorius (Player of the Match): "[How do you construct your Powerplay overs?] The Powerplay could be a bit of a 50-50 for us. But before that, I want to thank god for the opportunity to play tonight and for the performance. Tried to keep it as simple as possible, make it as difficult as possible. It went my way again tonight, so really happy for that but thought that was a really good team performance.
[How satisfied are you with this award] Yeah, coming back home. First home game, a performance like that, we are setting the bar really high from a perspective. We can be really proud of our performance. Jamaica had been flying high. Four in four, think they have won the last four games. So, really happy with the performance.
[What is the reason behind your good record at Providence?] I actually don't know. I try to keep it simple, really simple game-plans. Honestly, with the way the team is playing, they give a lot of confidence. I know who is following me. I know Shamar (Joseph) is there, I know KP (Khary Pierre) is there, I know Immy (Imran Tahir) is there, (Mohammad) Nabi is there. So, it allows us to play with a lot of freedom and with not too much pressure on our shoulders as an individual. The way the batting unit played, that was amazing. It helps a lot.
[The experienced players and structure helps?] We are fortunate that in our seam attack, Shamar has been here for four years, I have been here for four years. Sheppy (Romario Shepherd) has been here forever. We trust each other so much. When we walk back and they give you an option, you trust it straight-way, there is no not being sure. Immy has given me a lot of trust. It has just been amazing. We have kept 80 per cent of our squad together for a very long period of time and I am really chuffed with how we are performing."

Rovman Powell (Jamaica Kingsmen Captain): [on the total] "I was pretty pleased especially after losing those early wickets. Credit to Hassan. He played a tremendous innings for us. It's just a case of some fine margins.
[on what could be done differently] In hindsight maybe we could have shifted things around a little bit but credit to Gurbaz and Dindyal. They batted well in the powerplay. We also could not find the wicket of Hetmyer and Shai Hope. Guyana is always a difficult place to play. It's good for us to come out here and run out.
[what makes it difficult to play] When you look at Guyana team, you know they are designed for it. They pick their team based on their conditions. 3 quality spinners, they always have that and Pretorius always takes wickets in the powerplay. His line is very good in Guyana. That seems like a well rounded team.
[if the conditions changed in the 2nd inns] Yes they did. We wanted to win the toss and bowl. We know that it would get increasingly wet and batting would become easier in the 2nd innings. Credit to the Guyana team, they played well tonight.
[on the upcoming last league game] It's a must win game if we are to progress further in the competition. It's an opportunity for us. We have a few days for us to just sit down, come up with different plans, see which plan's working for us as a team. We're still in a good place. Once as a team your destiny or your faith is in your hands, then you take that anytime.

It's collectively to put it together instead of one or 2 guys chipping in at games. We have 3-4 guys. Having said that, the guys are working hard. It's 9 games in a long competition and we have some time in Barbados where we can sit down, rest our legs a little bit and come fresh for the final game."

Wanted to continue with the brand of cricket that we have been playing and we executed that. For the first 16 to 18 overs, we had them in control.
[About the chase] Most of these players have been with the franchise. Not easy to bat here. It was good to see how professional they were. Really happy with the way the batters went about.
[About Mavendra Dindyal's knock and sending him as an opener] (Mavendra) Dindyal is a very talented guy. He never put Gurbaz under pressure. Usually, Gurbaz is the one who takes on the bowlers. It was good to see how they calculated it. We believe that he is a really good batter against spin and fast bowlers especially in the Powerplay. I think he is a very good talent and he is going to do well in the future.

For the Kingsmen, their final encounter against the Barbados Tridents is now a must-win for them to strengthen their position in the top 4.
