12:48 AM IST and 9:18 PM Local Time: MICT win by 36 runs! That has been some drubbing from the MICT. They outplayed JSK in all the departments. Their batters batted with more aggression and the bowler's nailed accuracy. With this win they make it 2/2 over the Super Kings this year and also win their second match of the season.
The MI Cape Town won the toss and elected to bat first. Their openers were superb and supported the captain's decision. Rassie Van der Dussen was the aggressor and smoked it around the ground with disdain. Ryan Rickelton also played some sumptuous shots. Both batters got to their fifties before Rassie fell for a well-made 65. The score stood at 129/1 at that point.
Rickelton took the baton from then on and kept the strike to smash it all around the Wanderers. He notched up his second SA20 hundred and his second for the season as well. Karim Janat with some lower order hits powered the MICT to a mammoth 234/4. Rickelton ended with 113*. The pick of the bowlers for the JSK side was Daniel Worrall for his 2-37.
The chase began on a good note for JSK. Despite Faf du Plessis unable to bat because of an injured thumb he suffered in the first innings, they started well. Vince scored 12 off the first over. However, out of nowhere the JSK lost 3 quick wickets. From 15/0 they slipped to 35/3. Vince was the lone aggressor without much support. Rabada was the key architect in that early collapse and he was breathing fire.
Then Dian Forrester stood by Vince. Kept giving him the strike and Vince kept smoking the bowlers. It almost felt like he was playing on a different pitch than his teammates. The turning point though was when Linde struck to get rid of Vince. He broke a 66-run stand and dismissed Vince for a well-made 77(43).
Unfortunately, with that dismissal, the run rate crept to almost 16 an over. Forrester and Donovan Ferreira attacked the bowling and gathered 12/13 runs in the overs. However, the rate had rocketed so high because of the early collapse that their hitting proved to be inadequate. With the pressure mounting Ferreira was also dismissed. Forrester got to his 50 as well but it was too little too late for the side. MICT capped off a comfortable win in the end. The pick of the bowlers for the MICT were George Linde (2-30) and Kagiso Rabada (2-34).

We need to put it behind us. We had great momentum, but rain delays are not in our control. We need to turn it around quickly, and 3 more games, that's what we are gonna focus on."

In T20 you often start well, face a collapse in the middle. It often is on how well you finish. For me 210 was a good total. If you Bowl good lines and lengths, you can defend that.

Ryan Rickelton (Player of the Match): "It's awesome for me. Great win, great night out, great partnership, really stoked to win. I was thinking about celebrations recently. I saw KL doing it in IPL, maybe when he was between teams, but it came out the way it did. I thought about going into the game, and it was probably an emotional outburst at that time.
Today was slower at the start; setting up a big total is different from chasing. Rassie took some pressure off me, and I got support at the other end. I took off at the end, and sometimes you can get out at 70-80, and sometimes you go on to score a 100. But probably a bit more calculated this time.
I was probably okay to try and pull the plug at 70-80. Obviously, the luck went my way, two free hits today, when I was dropped, and once in the 90s, so I thought maybe it's my day today.
It's tricky to bat here; the important thing is to get inside the ball and use the square boundaries well. If you can do that, you can succeed here."

With that we come to the end of Match 20! The Mi franchise has started doing MI franchise things. They start slow, but tend to pick up some serious speed once they are going strong. For the Super Kings, they have hit a roadblock all of a sudden. Two losses in the last 3 games will worry them. They will have to regather their thoughts before they go into the next game. The South African carnival continues as we head to Gqeberha tomorrow. Sunrisers Eastern Cape will take on the Durban Super Giants!
