PLAYER OF THE MATCH: KUSAL MENDIS
Kusal Mendis (Player of the Match): (On his form and consistency in T20 cricket) “Yes, of course, I’m very happy with my innings. I gave 100 percent for my team. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been batting well, and I practiced a lot over the last few months, so I’m pleased with how things are going.

(On whether setting or chasing a target is harder) It depends on the wicket. Early on, the pitch can be a little slow and offer some spin in the first innings. In the second innings, sometimes the bounce gets lower, but the ball can come on nicely, so it really depends on conditions. Farhan Yousaf batted really well and gave me great support during the innings.

(On young fast bowler Ali Raza) He bowled really well. He bowls above 140 kph and also performed strongly in the last match. He understands cricket well, knows how to bowl to his strengths, and I think he can play for the national team. Farhan also batted and fielded very well. Both youngsters are doing really well, and that is great to see.”
Most career runs in T20s for Sri Lankan batters

Kumar Sangakkara - 6937

Kusal Mendis - 6041*

Mahela Jayawardene - 5479
With 493 runs from eight innings, Kusal Mendis now holds the record of scoring the most runs by an overseas batter in a single PSL edition.
Smart Wicket of the Match: Ali Raza
David Warner (Karachi Kings captain): "I think the message in the group was 180-185 was par total. The wicket was hard, but underneath it had that crumbling soil. The way (Ali) Raza bowled was excellent. He showed the senior players what length to hit.

(On how tough it is to maintain form?) It it about having confidence. You see with Zalmi. They are a quality batting line-up and they keep backing themselves.

(On his own batting) It is one of those things, where you want the ball to come onto the bat. When you have not had game time, the bat feels a bit heavier. But we are athletes, we do this day in and day out. So, we will rock up the next day with a smile."
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): (On the team’s current success) “Thank you. The win may look easy from the outside, but a lot of hard work goes into it. Alhamdulillah, the credit goes to the whole team because we are giving our hundred percent in all three departments.

(On young talent in the squad - Ali Raza) He is an outstanding talent. The pace he has at this age is impressive. The most important thing is that he wants to learn. After every match, even after every ball, he discusses what deliveries he should bowl. Learning never stops, and I really like that quality in youngsters.

(On Farhan Yousaf’s potential) He is similar. Unfortunately, in previous games, he didn’t get the chance to bat, but even then, his fielding effort and attitude showed he wanted to contribute. Today, he got an opportunity and made full use of it.

(On batting with Kusal Mendis) When I’ve batted with him, I’ve noticed his game awareness is very good. He judges balls well, understands his scoring areas, and builds innings smartly. He has a very good temperament. He bats according to how the game is progressing, knows when to dominate, and understands how to pace an innings. That shows his class.

(On the team's form and momentum) Thank you for the congratulations. Hopefully this form continues, InshaAllah.”
Who can stop this juggernaut called Peshawar Zalmi? That has been the over-arching theme for the entirety of PSL 11. The question continues to loom as Babar Azam's men notch-up yet another victory today. They have won 8 out of their 9 games now, most in emphatic style, and are yet to face a loss.

Meanwhile, Karachi Kings' scratchy runs continues. They have now lost 5 games on a trot and their net run rate too has taken a beating. They still have a couple more games to try and turn it around though. But it will take something special.

Talking of special things, Multan Sultans vs Hyderabad Kingsmen is up next. That means, it is Steve Smith vs Marnus Labuschagne, Sahibzada Farhan vs Saim Ayub, Mohammad Nawaz vs Glenn Maxwell. Switch tabs to tune into that mouth-watering fixture.

From here, this Darpan Tikiya signing off on the behalf of Dev Rajawat, Mohammad Anab and Ghanendra Singh Thakur. We hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we did bringing it to you. See you soon!
