Earlier, Kathmandu Gorkhas recovered from a shaky start to post 134/6 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant late surge from Mohammad Aadil Alam. After being sent in to bat, the hosts collapsed to 29/4 by the ninth over, with Aakash Tripathi, Ricardo Vasconcelos, Pratik Shrestha, and Gerhard Erasmus all falling cheaply. Ben Charlesworth steadied the innings with a patient 32 off 33, while Santosh Yadav added 26 but couldn’t convert his start.
The momentum shifted only when Aadil Alam launched a counterattack, smashing an unbeaten 48 off 25 balls to lift the Gorkhas to a respectable total. For Biratnagar Kings, Marchant de Lange was the standout bowler with 2/17, while Shubham Ranjane, Surya Tamang, and Sandeep Lamichhane chipped in with a wicket each.
In reply, George Munsey set the tone with a blistering 36 off 16 balls, while Martin Guptill added a rapid 25 off 19 to keep the momentum going. Despite losing wickets at intervals, the Kings always stayed ahead of the rate.
Basir Ahamad (19) and Naren Bhatta (24) provided valuable middle-order, but the scoring was a bit slow, and they failed to remain unbeaten till the end. Shubham Ranjane (6*) and skipper Sandeep Lamichhane (9* off 3) completed the formalities with ease.
