A hat-trick to end the game from Nisar Ahmad as Lahore Blues register their first win in the Super 8 stage with a comprehensive 64-run win over Rawalpindi Region. They have outplayed their opponents in all faces of the game and the Blues deserve this win in the end.
Chasing 167 for another win, Rawalpindi Region never got going and lost wickets at regular intervals. The top 3 were blown away early. Haider Ali scored 23 off 14 balls while Mubasir Khan scored 24 off 26 balls. Mohammad Nawaz scored 15 off 19 balls while Raza Ul Mustafa scored an unbeaten 14* off 18 balls. The rest were in single digits as they were bowled out for 102 in the 18th over.
The star of the show for Lahore Blues was Nisar Ahmad as he got a hat-trick and fifer to end with figures of 5/5 in 2.4 overs. Usman Qadir bowled a miserly spell of 2/19 in 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Umaid Asif and Kashif Bhatti. They did drop a few catches and that's the area they need to work on. Other than that, they were clinical today.

Nisar Ahmad(Player of the Match)- "I thank the almighty that I performed well. The wicket was low, and I tried to bowl on full length and to the wickets. I tried to maintain the basics and hit the right areas and that paid off."
Umar Amin(Rawalpindi Region Captain)- "We tried to restrict them to 150 but we failed to do. We conceded a few runs at the powerplay and that went against us. We lost a few wickets in the powerplay. So we were behind in many ways.
When Shadab was with the side, we tried to maintain the modern ways of playing the T20 cricket. In the dressing room there were a lot of discussions around and we used to maintain a lot of things correctly.
We should do well with the fielding. We dropped catches, we did misfieldings and also I saw a stat that we took the least number of wickets in the powerplay. We have a lot of improvements to do ahead of our next fixture."

Hussain Talat (Lahore Blues Captain): "Thanks to Allah that we won our first game in Super 8. The key was to get partnerships and make the partnerships longer and take it deep. The openers gave us the start and then me and Qasim took the total to the end.
We lost a few close games. We started well, the middle overs were a bit of a concern as we lost our way a bit. But we did well in the death overs to get to the score we did.
Yes, it is a big margin of win and fielding was poor. So, we need to rectify on those areas and come back stronger in the next game. We won well today and need to win big in the next game as well. Thank You."
