10:03 PM IST & 5:33 PM Local Time: What a contest we’ve witnessed at the Home of Cricket! The Trent Rockets Women have outplayed and outmuscled the London Spirit Women at Lord’s to register their first win of the season. For the Spirit Women, it’s their first setback of the campaign. A commanding performance from the Rockets, sealing a thumping 33-run victory.

Earlier in the day, Trent Rockets Women were asked to bat first and got off to a flying start as Bryony Smith unleashed a flurry of attacking strokes, with Natasha Wraith providing solid support. The pair powered the visitors to 52/0 at the end of the powerplay. However, Eva Gray turned the tide in the eighth set, removing both openers in quick succession—cleaning up Wraith for 20 and having Smith caught in the deep for a blistering 42 off 23 balls. This allowed London Spirit Women to regain control as Nat Sciver-Brunt and skipper Ashleigh Gardner adopted a more measured approach.

Sciver-Brunt soon found her rhythm, peppering the boundary regularly, while Gardner struggled to accelerate. The duo added 60 for the third wicket before Gardner departed for 25. Gray then struck twice in successive deliveries, dismissing Heather Graham (1) and Emma Jones (0) in her final set. Sciver-Brunt ensured a strong finish for the Rockets, reaching her fifty with a six off the final ball to remain unbeaten on 51 from 29 deliveries. The Rockets posted 149/6, with Eva Gray starring for the Spirit, claiming an outstanding 4/19 from her 20 balls.

Chasing the target, London Spirit Women began cautiously, with Kira Meghan Chathli showing some intent in the powerplay. However, the innings never found any real flow. Cassidy McCarthy struck inside the fielding restrictions, removing Chathli for 19 to give the Rockets their first powerplay wicket of the season. From there, the Spirit innings unraveled. Wickets kept tumbling in clusters as the Rockets’ spinners tightened the screws and dismantled the middle order, leaving the hosts reeling at 67/5.

Cordelia Griffith’s quickfire 20 off 11 offered brief resistance, while Charli Knott’s 33 off 25 was a lone fight towards the end. But it wasn’t enough, as the Spirit were eventually bowled out for 116. Kirstie Gordon was the star with the ball, delivering a superb spell of 4/15. A dominant all-round display saw the Trent Rockets Women clinch their first win of the season, defeating London Spirit Women by 33 runs.
Hero of the Match: Nat Sciver-Brunt
Nat Sciver-Brunt (Hero of the Match): "Yeah, it feels brilliant. We have got points on the board. We were good in patches in the past but have done well to get across the line today.

I'm happy to come in any time. I got a good chance to get away today.

All-rounders are key in any team. Ashleigh is leading us nicely."
That brings an end to our coverage of this game. It was pleasure bringing you all the updates from this clash at the 'Home of Cricket'. Do switch tabs as the Men's fixture between these two franchises isn't far away.

For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey and scorer Paras Yadav. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
