Shahrukh Khan (VIDA Kovai Kings Captain): "[What did they think of their score?] We were going at 10 rpo till the seventh over. They have a great death bowling. They have been spectacular. We knew it won't be easy in the end. But in the powerplay, the way our openers played, it laid the platform. It was sensational death bowling from them and we couldn't get going in the end.

[On their bowling performance] Pretty happy at the end of the day. We have been playing knockout games for the last 4-5 games. They are used to the pressure. They know they have to keep it simple. We are well-prepared for the knockout games. Just have to keep things simple.

Shahrukh Khan-led Kovai Kings have marched onto the final of TNPL 2026 with a dominating victory. After putting 183 batting first, they demolished the Trichy Grand Cholas' top order by reducing them to 6/5. Suresh Lokeshwar put up a fight, but that was certainly not enough for Trichy and they got bundled out for just 99 on the board, falling 84 runs short of the target.

Up next, we have the grand finale of the tournament lined up on Friday. Madurai Panthers already qualified for the final earlier and now, Kovai Kings become the second team to make it to the summit clash. In this TNPL, Madurai and Kovai met last time on 8th of August and that was a record breaking game. Kovai Kings scored the highest innings total in TNPL in the first innings with 239/4 and the Madurai Panthers toppled them in the next innings to break the records with 240/4.
