MOW won by 5 runs
6:14 PM IST, 1:42 PM Local Time: There you go. Manchester Originals Women win a thrilling contest in front of their home crowd. They beat Northern Superchargers by five runs to make it three wins in this year’s competition. This is their first win at home. The Superchargers Women have bottled up this chase and they have missed a great chance of going to top of the table.

The Superchargers Women got off to a steady start while chasing 118. Davina Perrin scored 10 at the top of the order before departing in the third set. Alice Davidson-Richards was joined by Phoebe Litchfield and both took their time to settle in. The runs started to flow for the Superchargers as the stand grew past 50.

Litchfield scored 31 before holing out in the deep on the 61st ball as the 64-run stand was broken. Davidson-Richards got stumped on 29 as the Originals Women pulled back things. Annabel Sutherland (11) and skipper Hollie Armitage (2) departed in a quick succession. Nicola Carey kept her side in the hunt and the game went down the wire.

The Superchargers Women required nine runs from the final set, which was bowled by Lauren Filer. She started very well, conceding just a leg bye in the first two balls. On the third ball, she dismissed Kate Cross on three. On the final two balls, she conceded only two runs as the Superchargers Women finished their innings on 112/7, falling agonizingly short by five runs. Kathryn Bryce (2/26), Sophie Ecclestone (2/21) and Amelia Kerr (2/20) grabbed two wickets each for the hosts as they defended the total successfully.

Earlier in the day, the Originals Women lost both their openers Kathryn Bryce (5) and skipper Beth Mooney (8) inside the powerplay after they were inserted to bat. Amelia Kerr (20) and Seren Smale (15) tried hard to resurrect the innings but both looked scratchy at the crease and fell in a quick succession.

Deandra Dottin walked out to bat and changed the whole complexion of the innings. She hit some magnificent strokes and notched up a quickfire fifty. Her knock comprised six fours and three maximums as her unbeaten 26-ball 51 powered the Originals Women to 117/5. Kate Cross (2/21) was the pick of the bowlers for the Superchargers Women. The game went down the wire and the Originals Women held their nerves to emerge victorious by five runs.

Deandra Dottin (Hero of the Match): "A great game. Really good for us to get the first win also.

I feel the conditions were good for batting. The main thing for me was to see what it's doing and take it deep and take the team to a good total.

To be honest, keep the stumps in play as the slower balls had to be bowled fuller. There was some extra bounce when bowling with cross-seam.

Definitely, the confidence is high. But we won't get over-confident and we will take one game at a time."
That brings an end to our coverage of this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. This is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Bishal Mandal. Bye bye.
