Sam Billings (Trent Rockets captain): "(His thoughts on the result) Very pleasing. It was a massive game. We did not want to go home with all hanging on the last game. We lost early wickets. We were under pressure. But then, the two overseas players (Santner and David) showed their class. Don't think they have batted much in this tournament. But then, that is why they are world class.
(On the send-off from Gleeson) Like everyone else, I watched their game against the Spirit. Everyone does like the game being played hard. But I do not like this. It is a poor showing. You can behave and still be competitive. But then, it is just my opinion.
(On Mitchell Santner's knock) I thought game was in balance. The momentum was shifting. In this format, with sets of 10s, the pressure can get to you if you get camped at one end. The way Santner took pressure off David was brilliant. And we know what David can do. So, for him to make sure that he delivered from his end was pleasing.
(Biggest positive from this game) Sanderson's back to back sets. First in the powerplay and then, at the death. But to be honest, all the players. They have really stepped up. I think it was one of those games where the fielding was the difference. Duckett's run out to get Pooran, who is one of the best players in the world, and then a few great catches. It is a great lesson for kids at home. Fielding can be unglamorous. As AB de Villiers once said, it is a selfless thing to contribute in the field. But it also shows the camaraderie we have in that change room.
(How big an advantage will it be to qualify directly for the final?) It has been a huge advantage in the past. It will feel a lot better if we can go straight."
