9:18 PM IST, 4:48 PM Local Time: That's it. A solid performance from the Welsh Fire Women sees them topple the Oval Invincibles Women at the Kennington Oval. The tone was set by the bowlers early in the game before their batters stepped up and chased down the modest total to win the game by three wickets.

Chasing 81, the Welsh Fire Women were pegged back early by Marizanne Kapp who removed both the Welsh openers in quick succession. Tammy Beaumont fell on a golden duck and Hayley Matthews departed on a four-ball duck. Sophia Dunkley along with Georgia Elwiss counter-attacked and put the pressure back on the hosts.

Dunkley and Elwiss stitched 40 between them for the third wicket before the former fell on a 21-ball 28. Elwiss looked good for her 33 but fell to give Kapp her third of the game. There was a mini-collapse but the Welsh Fire Women made sure that they crossed the line with three wickets in hand.

Marizanne Kapp of Oval Invincibles bowled brilliantly and picked up four wickets, giving away 18 runs in her 20 balls. Paige Scholfield also grabbed two wickets but there were not enough runs on the board as they suffered a loss in front of their home crowd.

Earlier, the Oval Invincibles' batters surrendered to the pace of Shabnim Ismail. The Welsh Fire pacer wreaked havoc as she breathed fire and ran through the defending champions' batting lineup. The hosts were reduced to 55/9 at the end of 75 balls.

Lauren Winfield-Hill was the lone fighter with the bat for the Oval side. Opening the batting, she stood tall against the Welsh Fire Women and put 25 along with Lizzie Scott for the last wicket. Winfield-Hill departed on 42 in the last set as the Oval Invincibles Women got bundled out on 80.

Shabnim Ismail was outstanding with the ball for Welsh Fire Women. She registered figures of 3/12 in her four sets which also included a maiden. Georgia Elwiss and Alex Griffiths also chipped in with two scalps as they did a fantastic job with the ball in hand before they chased down the total.
Hero of the Match: Shabnim Ismail
Shabnim Ismail (Hero of the Match): "Hundred percent thrilling feeling. I summed up the wicket perfectly in the morning. I think we spoke about bowling straighter lines and the ball moves a bit here. Dane says she misses me in the team but I’m enjoying my time in the Welsh team. I had my pads up but I was telling my teammates that they were nowhere going to win it."
That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Zeeshan Naiyer. Tata. Bye Bye.
