Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bat first. Jess Kerr started off with a maiden and started the flow of wickets in the 3rd over. Nensi Patel kicked off her spell with a double wicket maiden continuing to put Zimbabwe on the backfoot.
Patel finished with 3/8, Jess Kerr with 2/6 with Amelia Kerr (1/12) and Maddy Green (1/5) claiming a wicket apiece. Adel Zimunu hit 20 in 23 balls and Audrey Mazvishaya remained unbeaten on 20 to help Zimbabwe score 64/9 surviving all 20 overs.
Chasing a mini total of 65, Izzy Gaze provided a wonderful start for New Zealand smashing 38 off 20 balls with 7 fours, Izzy Sharp opening with Gaze hit 4 fours in her unbeaten 18 off 14 balls with New Zealand winning by 10 wickets inside the 6th over.
The game changed in the 2nd over when Adel Zimumu conceded 23 runs, New Zealand carrying the momentum to hit 16 off the 3rd over against Nomvelo Sibanda and closing the chase in the 6th.
