Ashton Turner (Perth Scorchers Captain): "It is symbolic of this team, this organisation. And the support we have from the wider cricketing state. We are fortunate that 11 of us can take the field. But we know that it is a much bigger effort to get us out there and get us to a point where we can achieve success. There are too many people to name. But, you know, the guys who missed out, the support staff, the coaching staff, the management, the executive and board at WA cricket to the fans. I heard that we have broken a record for the biggest crowd ever to attend a game of cricket in Western Australia.
[Vibe in the group] It is pretty surreal. This has been a long time in the making. There has been a lot of time and effort spent about being preparing for this competition. Planning, time, on the phone, emails conversations about how we will be able to best prepare to put the best plans into practice over the last week. It has been an exhausting period, really exciting period of the year, to be able to cap it off with the trophy is pretty exciting.
[On Sydney Sixers] Yeah, I have spoken a lot in the media that Sixers will be here and we have so much respect for them as a team. We relate a lot of their values, the competitiveness and the continuity. Congratulations for Moises and Greg on your season. We know it is always a challenge to come up against you guys, we are sure this is not the last battle we will have against you."
