Rajat Patidar (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): (On going top of the table after a tight win) "I think my pulse is normal now. It was a very tight match, but overall, it was a great game. Especially Krunal Pandya - I think he was the man who did it for the team today.

(On promoting Krunal Pandya to number five) I think it was a team decision. We discussed it in the team meetings, and we know he has batted at number five earlier as well. We wanted to give him that opportunity, and he performed really well. On having experienced players who thrive under pressure: There’s a lot of experience in the side, and those players know how to perform on the big stage. Whenever the team is under pressure, experienced players step up and do the job for the team.

(On Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling performance) I think he was unbelievable today. His control over the ball is superb. On this kind of wicket, which had two-paced bounce and movement, it becomes very difficult for batters to face him.

(On whether there was pressure after two consecutive losses) Right now, we are not focusing too much on the points table. Our mantra is to play to our strengths and focus on playing good cricket rather than looking at the standings.

(On chasing 166 and the batting performance) I think the bowlers did a tremendous job by restricting them to 166, which was definitely a chaseable total. But honestly, I feel we didn’t deserve to make it that difficult because we have a skillful batting lineup. No matter the situation or pitch conditions, we are capable enough of chasing such targets more comfortably."

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (POTM): "(What did he enjoy more — the wickets he took or the six he hit?) That six for sure, because I've bowled many times. I've taken a few wickets before as well. But yeah, six is the thing I've enjoyed the most.

(Not playing for India for 3.5 years. What keeps him motivated?) Honestly, motivation is a very overrated word for me. You read a quote, see a video, get motivated for a few minutes, and then it fades away very quickly. But the thing which keeps me going is the discipline, and with that, yes, we have physios and trainer with the team, but I've got a physio and trainer back at home. They work hard with me as well. They help me keep in shape. So I think credit goes to them as well.

(On sticking to bowling on a length) I think everything depends on the wicket and the position as well. Like today, if there was a bit in the wicket when you hit the length ball, and yes, there are wickets which are flat when you bowl a length ball, nothing happens, then you try something different. It's all about you reading the conditions as quickly as possible.

(How does he ensure that he gets enough practice between two IPL seasons?) I think a good thing is that throughout the year I'm getting enough match practice to stay in touch and enough breaks to, you know, recharge and bring back the strength. So I think yes, I play UPT20, Mushtaq Ali, and that's enough practice for me to be in touch, and yes, of course, when IPL comes, there is different practice because the level is probably different in Mushtaq Ali and UPT20. So yes, when I come back into the IPL, we have a camp, and I do whatever I need to do.

(On the feeling when everything is in control with his bowling) Probably the best feeling for me. But yes, when you do whatever you want to, you feel confident, and yes, there's a team management that leaves everything on you. You can do whatever you want. So yes, you feel happy when you do whatever you want to do.

(Reflecting on the game and possible celebrations post it) I mean, two crucial points for us. If we had lost that one, I wouldn't lie, we would be under pressure. But yes, we did well to get those points.
After the game, Rohit Sharma had a long conversation with Rajat Patidar, probably sharing some valuable experience.
Hello, cricket fans! (I know, technically it is time to say goodbye. But I also know that this is a window that you cricket fanatics will be revisiting numerous times in the future, so leaving it for then) Yes, this was the all-time classic between RCB and MI at Raipur that ebbed and flowed like a colossal rollercoaster going through several enthralling bends. Want to relive it? Scroll below the quotes to read through the comprehensive summary.

As a consequence of this result, Mumbai Indians have been knocked out of IPL 2026 while Royal Challengers Bengaluru have now climbed to the top of the points table. Though, they could be dislodged from the apex spot in 24 hours if PBKS get their act together. Shreyas Iyer's men are going to face Delhi Capitals at Dharamsala — a venue which will be used for the first time this season — on Monday.

Much like MI, DC's hopes are also hanging by a thread. Hence, expect them to fight tooth and nail too. Plus, they would also want to avenge their loss from earlier in the season that saw KL Rahul's epic knock of 152* go in vain. Will PBKS get back to winning ways? Or will Axar Patel and co. have their revenge? We will find out together. Remember, our coverage will start at 6:30 PM IST, local time.

For now, this is Darpan Tikiya signing off on the behalf of AkshayaKrishna Polya, Dev Rajawat, Manish Bishnoi, Aman, Paras Yadav and Ajay Pal Singh. Keep following Crickxo for more cricketing action from around the world. Sayonara!
