Chasing a very gettable target of 244 for the win, it was all about the opening partnership between Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne as the duo put on 190 runs for the first wicket. That really killed the contest. Nissanka got to his 3rd ODI hundred and back-to-back hundreds in this tournament. He scored 104 off 113 balls. Dimuth Karunaratne supported him as he scored 83 off 92 balls. Both fell towards the end. In the end, Kusal Mendis got some batting practice and scored an unbeaten 34* off 43 balls while Sadeera Samarawickrama was unbeaten on 17* off 18 balls. 6 extras were given by the fielding side as Sri Lanka romped home to the win.
The West Indies bowlers were under strength and could only get two wickets in the end. A wicket apiece in the end for Kevin Sinclair and Akeal Hosein. Both tried along with the others, but this was a low total to defend.

Maheesh Theekshana: "I think we had a debutant and Dushan Hemantha had played only one game. So I had to take the responsibility of being the leader of the pack. Dilshan Madushanka bowled well with the new ball. I love bowling in the Powerplay with the new ball. It skids on and helps me getting it through. With the old ball, it doesn't really skids as the wickets here are flat. So I was happy with the new ball. Kept them in the correct spots and reaped the rewards. Wasn't actually nervous (searching for the five-wicket haul). It was just that the old ball with which doesn't get enough support from the pitch. I was keen on the fifth wicket, but didn't manage to get it."
Shai Hope (West Indies Captain): "Ahh... To be honest, we didn't have enough runs on the board. Batting first we had to put runs on the board but we didn't. Credits to their bowlers for bowling well. Bowling first there is that extra help in it for the bowlers.

Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka Captain): "See, today it's the first time we played in Harare. The fast bowlers had to hit the right lines and lengths. This is a flat wicket and we kept it tight and gave nothing away. He has been consistent and will hope to carry on this good work in the future matches. We need to take catches and if we would have taken those catches, we would have been chasing 50-60 less. I tell everyone to stay calm. Yes, looking forward to the finals. We are looking forward to it as the final gives us an opportunity to do well. The boys are excited and we are looking forward to it."
