WIW won by 6 wickets (DLS METHOD)
12:56 PM: West Indies Women make a strong comeback in the second T20 international to square the series 1-1 with a thumping 6 wicket win (DLS) against Sri Lanka at Hambantota.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first on the same surface which was used in the series opener. Sri Lanka scored 89/4 in 15.2 overs before rain arrived and stopped the game. The innings was called off once conditions were suitable for cricket again and Windies set a DLS total of 99 to win in 15 overs.

The experienced opening duo of Hayley Matthew (29 in 29) and Stafanie Taylor added 44 runs for the first wicket in 6.5 overs. Sachini Nisansala broke the stand with Chamari Athapaththu removing number 3 Shemaine Campbelle in the 10th over.

Qiana Joseph and Chedean Nation failed to impress with the bat but Taylor stood her ground and hit an unbeaten 28 off 26 deliveries finishing the game with Aaliyah Alleyne (15* off 8).

Nisansala (1/18), Athapaththu (1/18) and Kavisha Dilhari (1/25) picked up a wicket apiece. Inoshi Priyadharshini (0/17) and Ama Kanchana (0/13) tried to contain the scoring but Taylor helped the visitors to overhaul the score in the final over.

The final T20I will be played at the same venue on Friday.
