Pat Cummins (Player of the Match & Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain): "[on the pleasing aspect of the match] There's a few. Punjab are a really good side. Number 1 coming into this, and the batters to get up to what we did was sensational. Closing out: no matter the score, bowling 2nd against a side like that is always tough, but we were quite clinical.

[on success while batting first] We're pretty good at playing at our own pace. Don't try and start off conservatively. It's not really Abhi and Travis' style. It's trying to max out as much as we can. Not really thinking about a total or anything and then maybe later in the innings if it takes in a different direction, we've been pretty good at adjusting.

[on home advantage] Yeah, we're no good during the day (chuckles). We played some really good cricket here over the last couple of years. It suited our style. Even tonight, it gripped a little bit, which kind of suits a lot of our bowlers towards the end, and we feel like no matter which way, this pitch kind of takes us mid-game, we've seen it before, and we can adjust.
[On struggling in the afternoon game] Trav's normally still sleeping by that time when his kids aren't here, so maybe that's it.

[on personal performance] Happy with it. Still don't know how I got that award, but I feel really good. Came into this fresh. Had pretty good prep. I'm feeling great, happy I can contribute.

[on Arya's wicket] Not much has worked in the powerplay for any team, so we tried to be a bit more proactive today. Had our plans, but didn't have many other options, so I thought we'd try a bouncer, and fortunately, it came off tonight. [On bluffing Arya with the field changes] Try and move the field, pretend a bit more's happening than actually is.

[on rotating bowlers] We have lots of options. With Nitish as an allrounder I feel like we always got 6 or 7 options. I always like having a bit of a clear mind for the first kind of how the powerplay could look, and then after that, fairly open mind of where it can take me.

[on Connolly] Yeah. Happy. Good result. Good to see the Aussies doing well. He's been a star this season for them. Not bowling at the moment, but still showing his worth. Good time for us.

[on whether this is their season] Still a bit of time to go, so we've actually had a bit of a break now, so we'll save in the top for a little bit. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else than number one, so happy."

SRH continue their dominance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, making it 9 victories in a row against PBKS at this venue. Despite a magnificent century from Cooper Connolly, it wasn’t enough as SRH cruised to a convincing 33-run victory to climb to the top of the points table. It’s now a hat-trick of defeats for PBKS, who once looked unstoppable as the only unbeaten side in the tournament.

Up next, we head to Lucknow where LSG take on RCB. For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ninaad Dixit and Darpan Tikiya, along with scorers/analysts Paras Yadav and Manish Bishnoi, and our statistician Aman, who brought you all the updates from this clash.
