Chasing a paltry 111 for the win in 100 balls, the Superchargers got off to a good steady start. Kelly scored 24 off 20 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues looked good for her 16 off 10 balls before she fell. Phoebe Litchfield anchored the chase with her 42* off 29 balls as she remained unbeaten till the end. Skipper Armitage chipped in with 13 runs while Alice Davidson Richards came in and scored 11* off 5 balls to get the win in the 16th set.
Issy Wong bowled only 5 balls and got a wicket to her name. Levick bowled well as she gave away 18 runs and picked up a wicket in 20 balls. The other wicket fell to H L Baker who finished with 1/20 in 13 balls. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless but they had too low of a score to defend in the end.
Earlier in the game, Birmingham Phoenix Women were put into bat first by Northern Superchargers Women. They got off to a decent start courtesy of Sophie Devine as she held the innings together. But she lost wickets at the other end. Skipper Evelyn Jones went for 10 while Amy Jones went for 13 runs. Devine top scored with 46 off 36 balls but she felt the pressure and got out in the end. The innings fell away thereafter with only Freeborn reaching double figures scoring 14 off 11 balls. The rest of the batters did not reach double digits and they ended with 110/8 in 100 balls.
It was a disciplined bowling performance from the Superchargers bowlers. Alice Davidson Richards was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/20 in 20 balls. Smith was economical as she gave away 16 runs in 20 balls apart from picking up a wicket. Georgia Wareham and Kate Cross picked up a wicket each as well and gave hardly anything away in their spell of bowling.
