Sunrisers Leeds Women

2/13
In reply, Sunrisers Leeds did not get off to the best of starts. Lauren Bell struck early to remove Bryony Smith for 2, registering her first powerplay wicket of the season. Issy Wong then produced a huge moment by dismissing the dangerous Phoebe Litchfield for 4 in her first set. At the end of the powerplay, Sunrisers Leeds were 25/2 and had work to do in the chase.
Southern Brave struggled to build partnerships through the middle phase and were 54/2 at the halfway mark. The scoring rate dipped as the Sunrisers bowlers tightened their grip on the contest. Sophie Molineux never quite found her rhythm and finished unbeaten on 22 off 24 balls, while Charli Knott contributed a valuable 25 off 21 deliveries. Led superbly by Danielle Gibson, Sunrisers Leeds restricted Southern Brave to a below-par total of 114/7 from their 100 balls.
Earlier in the day, Sunrisers Leeds won the toss and elected to field first. Southern Brave made a positive start, with Lizelle Lee taking the attack to the bowlers and finding the boundary regularly. The Brave reached 33/0 at the end of the powerplay, but the momentum shifted soon after. Sunrisers fought back brilliantly, and the key breakthrough came when Lizelle Lee, the top scorer of the innings, was dismissed for 32 off 25 balls.
9:22 PM IST & 4:52 PM Local Time: The defending champions have produced a commanding performance at The Oval, comprehensively defeating Southern Brave to book their place in the final. They now head to the Home of Cricket, where they will take on the Trent Rockets in the summit clash on Sunday.

Hannah Baker (Hero of the Match): "[Were there nerves during that run chase?] 100%. It’s good to get over the line I guess.

[On the conditions] We were just with par. We had the confidence and with the power in our group, we thought we could chase it.

[On her bowling plans today] I spoke to Jonassen and she told to hit my lengths. I tried to do that.

[Preparations before the final on Sunday?] I reckon relax and get ready to go again for the final."
A convincing victory for Sunrisers Leeds over Southern Brave in the Eliminator as they qualify for the final of Women's Hundred 2026. They will face Trent Rockets in the ultimate clash, which will be played at Lord's on Sunday. Expect a cracking contest at the 'Home of Cricket' between two quality sides.
For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide who, along with scorer Paras Yadav and statistician Aman brought all the updates of this clash.
