Oval Invincibles Women got off to a slow and steady start while chasing a target off 113 runs. Winfield and Bates opened the innings for Oval Invincibles. Winfield didn't trouble the scores much as she got out after scoring 5 runs off 7 deliveries.
Suzie Bates held the one end pretty well she was scoring at a brisk rate and didn't allow the required run rate to pile up. She stitched a partnership with Capsey for the 2nd wicket. Suzie Bates looked in sublime touch today.
They stitched a partnership of 47 runs off 38 deliveries. Oval Invincibles lost a couple of quick wickets after that partnership as Casey walked off after scoring 24 off 18 and Bates departed after scoring 41 off 32 balls. Alana King bowled exceptionally well she bowled 10 dot ball in a trot and tried to put pressure on the batters. But Marizanne Kapp released the shackles by scoring a couple of boundaries after a few dot deliveries and didn't allow the required run rate to pile up. Marizanne Kapp and Mady Villiers steered the ship comfortably as they stitched a partnership
off for 30 runs for the 4th wicket.
At one stage of the match, It looked like it will be a cakewalk for the Oval Invincivbles while chasing the total, but Trent rockets bowlers made a good comeback and took the game down to the wire, 3 runs were needed off the last 3 balls but Marizanne Kapp held her nerves and took her team over the line comfortably.
Earlier in the game, Trent Rockets Women posted a total of 112 runs with the fall of 8 wickets. Natalie Sciver was the standout performer for the Rockets with the bat, she scored 59 runs off 48 balls with the help of 8 boundaries. Rest all the batters looked rusty today and they paid price for it as they were unable to post a good total. Eva Gray was excellent with the ball as she took a couple of wickets for Oval Invincibles.
