Arriving for the chase of a 129-run target, Davina Perrin and Alice Davidson-Richards got off to a flying start, gathering 40 runs in 25 balls of the powerplay. However, the latter was struggling with the bat, and Heather Graham got the edge over the top-order batter in the tenth set. By the time, 62 runs were already added on the board, courtesy of the 18-year-old's promising batting.
Perrin took on the opposition bowlers not just in the powerplay but also in the middle overs phase. She was well assisted by Phoebe Litchfield for the second wicket, with the latter accelerating the chase with her 10-ball 22 cameo. Despite the rigorous change in bowling, the Rockets failed in the defense as Perrin's 40-ball 72* `was also well succoured by Annabel Sutherland's 11-ball 18*, sealing the deal with 21 balls and eight wickets in hand.
Earlier, Grace Ballinger and Linsey Smith offered a fiery start with the ball as the Rockets were reduced to 5/3 in three sets. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Ashleigh Gardner stabilised the stage before the Englishwoman departed for a run-a-ball 15. Despite getting starts, the Rockets' middle and lower-middle order failed to convert the score, except for Gardner.
