Monank Patel (USA captain): "(Pleased with the win?) Firstly, really happy the way we played today. I thought, losing the toss and batting first wasn't easy. The wicket was holding and I thought the way we showed the intent, that is what we were missing the in the first two games. I thought we came back really well as a batting department. The top four took the responsibility and played with the intent and scored really good.
(Change in intent?) I think initially we wanted to check the pitch, look at how it's behaving, and as soon as we knew when we got settled, we wanted to make sure that we punish the bad balls and show the intent and put them under pressure. I think we have prepared really well in the warm-up games also. We scored 200-run against India A and New Zealand. It was just a matter of, you know, showing more intent in the first two games. It was tough games for us as soon as we entered the World Cup. But it's a lot of learning in from that first two games, and it's going to help in this last two games.
(On Mukkamalla) He's an incredible talent for USA. The way he's been batting since last two years, he's batting like as if he's been playing for 10 years for the USA. He's very mature player, and credit to him.He took the responsibility. We've been talking about top three, that one of the top three has to bat throughout, and the way he batted here, credit to him.
(On Harmeet) I think it was very simple for him. As soon as he saw that the ball was gripping a bit. He has the experience and skills to spin the ball, and the way he, I thought, varied the pace, got them out, and, you know, credit to him. I thought he bowled brilliantly."
