SIX!!! Massive hit down the ground!! This is what Shivam Dube is known for. Gets one in the slot angled in on the off stump and lofts this on the front foot, hitting it straight as an arrow!

MUM won by 5 wickets
7:36 PM IST | Deepak: Mumbai will lock horns against Himachal in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022, as they crushed Vidarbha in the second semi-final of the SMAT 2022. A swashbuckling inning from Shreyas Iyer has helped Mumbai seal this game by five wickets.

Prior to this, Vidarbha scored 164 runs while losing seven wickets after electing to bat first. Jitesh Sharma put up a standout inning to assist Vidarbha in surpassing 160 runs. The best scorer for Vidarbha was Jitesh Sharma, who amassed an undefeated 46 runs off 24 balls. Shams Mulani, on the other hand, was Mumbai's preferred bowler as he claimed 3 wickets while conceding 20 runs in 4 overs, and this is also his best figure in T-20s.

In response to 164 runs, Mumbai didn’t get the desired start as they lost skipper Ajinkya Rahane in the second over, who departed after scoring 5 runs off 4 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal joined Prithvi Shaw at number three, but he also didn’t settle in the middle and departed after scoring 12 runs off 8 balls. Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw took charge of batting in the middle and started scoring at a brisk pace, and the pair added 43 runs for the third wicket as Prithvi Shaw departed after scoring 34 runs off 21 balls.

Shreyas Iyer
batted brilliantly and departed after scoring a fine knock of 73 runs off 44 balls,🔥 and in the end, Shivam Dube finished the game with two sixes with 19 balls to spare.

On the flip side, Akshay and Darshan scalped a couple of wickets each for Vidarbha and Lalit picked up one wicket.

Stay tuned for the presentations.

Shreyas Iyer is the player of the match.
Shreyas Iyer (Player of the match): "I'm glad I persevered through to the conclusion. I continued to think in terms of attacking. The dew factor was also significant. We attempted to discipline the stray balls. Additionally, the spinners didn't get much turn. When Prithvi was at bat, runs kept coming in. We advised him to stick around for at least the first six overs. Not many of our talented batters were given a start. I was virtually always connected. In the last game, I failed to take a couple shots. HP has also performed nicely. No one should be taken for granted. It's crucial to carry out the plan on the designated day."
That's a wrap from our side as well. Mumbai and Himachal will be playing the final for the first time in SMAT history. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Ninad Dixit and Scorer/Analyst Zeeshan Naiyer, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.✌✌
