10:06 AM IST and 9:36 PM Local Time: That's a brilliant outing for the White Rock Warriors. They restrict the Toronto Sixers to 134/4 and bag the contest by 30 runs!!! They didn't start on the best note with the bat but have recovered big time post the 7th over in the first innings.
Lynn had gotten underway and was striking it well early on for the Warriors. However, he lost Shikhar Dhawan just for 2. David Malan too couldn't contribute much, and the Warriors were in trouble after 4 overs at 47/2.
The match took a big turn in the 7th over. Aaron Jones entered and with him brought some video game cricket! He smashed 67 off just 15 balls! The team added almost 100 runs in the last 4 overs! 26 off the Jagmandeep Paul over and 35 off the Dan Christian over in that!!! The momentum just boosted towards the Warriors, and they made sure they complement that in the field too!
The Sixers started really well in reply scoring 18 off the first over before the experience and guile of Peter Siddle accounted for Jason Roy. Another Indian failure as Suresh Raina couldn't add much in his 2 ball stay.
Daniel Sams and Alex Hales got the innings back on track by scoring 22 off the third over. However, a lot of the air was taken out of the chase in the rather remarkable 5th over which was a floating powerplay.
A bonus ideally for the batters turned out into a nightmare as Kaleem Sana bowled a brilliant maiden wicket. From then on Sixers were always on the backfoot.
The maiden wicket was followed by overs that went for 16 and 17 runs, but the big problem was that the batting side just had to keep going. That accounted for Hales who made a good 60 off 21 without much support. The pins just fell off eventually and the Sixers were left far behind.
Shivam Sharma did get 28 off the last over but it was too little too late as the Sixers fell short by 30 runs! Important and big win for the Warriors!
